This woman is EK, the vocalist of NAOKI's song "TEARS."

And I thought EK was one of those mystery vocalists that don't reveal their identity (a la A/I).

Wow

That's interesting.

Though I would've never thought that it would be Noria (as the voice of this song is very dark and mysterious).

That when the song actually seems more on the uplifting side (more like light melodic trance imho).

---------------------------
Now what I want to know is as to who A/I really is......

The Japanese and Asian releases of Guitar Freaks feature the familiar DDR-style meter, but the American and European releases feature a Beatmania-style meter, where even if you finish the song, unless you have enough meter you'll fail. I found that kind of interesting.

Guitar Freaks 1???

Well I don't know remember much so forgive me for that (though I didn't know that GF was released in Europe???)

--------------------------

In any case,

What you are referring to is a mode called "GAME OVER : END OF MUSIC".

That setting was available on BEMANI machines way back then (from our PF 4th Mix Asian Version to our DDR 3rd Korean and DDR 5th). Though, it can only be adjusted via test mode settings in the operator menu (and thus access to the machine is necessary for it to be activated)

Though.......

I don't know if that setting is still available in GFDM machines of today.

I'll probably check it out sometime.

I dunno, I'm just going by the factory settings

And yes, there was a European release of Guitar Freaks 1

MAWS - showing resource: gtrfrks

(the E in EAC stands for Europe, the other versions start with A for Asia, J for Japan, and U for USA)

Guess we all learn something new everyday

--------------------
I never knew that this was really intended as a global release (though strangely, I think the drum game didn't make it to the West.........but only stayed in the East).

Regardless

Even with the emergence of GH, Rockband and whatnot, Konami should still have the balls to launch this game in areas where it is not officially released (mainly in the Americans and the European continent).

Many eager fans over there are waiting..........and yet still no release of the game.

P.S.
I think Europe was supposed to get a release this month.

Yet it's end of September and Konami Europe has not said a word at all.

That indeed sucks imho

Apparently, both the Pop'n Music character Goku-Sotsu-Kun and his song, roughly translated as "Year of the Monkey", were based off of Hitler or Naziism.

Naoki189 (bassist of Des-ROW Gumi) is also bassist of the band D-69.
Their first album was released today (9.27). Des-ROW mentioned them in his column after a phone call with Naoki189. Go check them out!

Hmm..........quite interesting.

Though I'm still a bit confused with the numerous Des-Row combinations

A bit.

I'm not sure if anyone else realized this but in CaptivAte Chikai, at the last 20 seconds of the song, right where the climax of the song that is based off of the opening of DistorteD, you can actually hear the "song selected" sound used as a sample at the beginning of the climax of CaptivAte Chikai. Its hard to explain it into words, maybe this might help.

Distorted Opening --0:27-0:31

CaptivAte Chikai --1:26-1:29 (its hard to hear, try using headphones if you can't hear it)

Yeah...probably more trouble than its worth but I found that to be very cool.

The pitch was lowered, judging by how it sounds.

Cool indeed.

Though one has to wonder if that will be the end of the Captivate series.

I hope not (as I personally want a Captivate expert course in the future )

The rap portion of "Put Your Faith in Me" is also heard on "I know" (Pinky's theme song from bust a move/groove).
