As to not take away from the actual event itself with so much else going on. What about you guys? What kind of atmosphere would work for you? | I think it's a matter of audience. I mean, while I don't think that an anime convention is a perfect place for a Bemani concert (seeing how there are certainly Bemani fans who have no interest in attention an anime convention), I can't really think of a more appropriate venue aside from something Bemani-specific like Bemanifest. A standalone concert wouldn't really work because the attendance numbers probably wouldn't be as high (how many people would go across the country for a two-hour concert?), so you pretty much have to tie it into a larger event. Lacking any other large public gatherings of gamers, anime conventions are one of the only ways to go.
In short, I'd go to an anime convention solely for the concert if I needed to, but ACen is certainly too far to travel. Aren't there any big anime conventions in Cali?

Aren't there any big anime conventions in Cali? | The problem with holding the concert on the west coast is that it's pretty much ALWAYS expensive to travel there for anyone who lives anywhere else. If it were somewhere central such as Chicago, the airfare wouldn't be terrible, and it would be of pretty much an even driving distance for anyone wishing to go. California is an awesome place to have events, especially because of the weather, but it would definitely exclude a hell of alot more people.

Anyway, the main people I'd want to see would be Taka, L.E.D., TaQ (lolz), Ryu*, Akira Yamaoka, wac, and Mr. T. Maybe throw in some SLAKE, and finish it all off with the public execution of BeForU and the public stoning of Naoki for all the repetitive crap!
Yeah, my concert would piss a lot of people off.
