DJ Yoshitaka

So far, he hasn't made anything that I particularly disliked. With the CaptivAte's, Nijiro, Contract, etc., I find it hard to choose a favorite from him. Oh who am I kidding...I made this thread for two primary reasons:

1. to finally have an appropriate place to talk about Gold Rush and Michael a la Mode
2. to help me answer a couple lingering questions I had about this guy for awhile

So here are the questions:

1. In Endless Summer Story, is he the male voice during those few bars? If so, it's pretty nice and reminds me of Gackt for some reason.
2. Does anyone else think that A/I, ERi, G.S.C. License, and DWP is the same person?

I've also thought of that, too.

And about his cover of GHOSTBUSTERS on IIDX Gold, is he the one who sung it, aside from making a rendition out of it?!?

DJ Yoshitaka is also Yoshi-kun (よしくん). It is most obvious in the music comment for Day's. Day's! [GuitarFreaksV3 & DrumManiaV3 OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE]
He has also been a part of Des-ROW for a while. There is a section on the Des-ROW beat revolution site called "Let's YOSHITAKA", but when you click on it, it says "COMING SOON" Des-ROW Official Site

Yes, I believe that's him singing. He works with Des-ROW alot and that's the only other time I actually heard him sing. He's the first one to sing in SUN/Kousen after YU raps in the intro. He also does the scratching for the Hip-Rock series. At the Pop'n Bukansai, he rapped in the Des-ROW segment to fill in for YU.

Haven't heard much from him (lazy to download), but all I heard so far is good.
My favorite is Bloody Tears...

I'm in the same boat - there's not too much from him that I dislike. If I had to choose one tho - it would be a close race between WISH and Gold Rush. Not over-the-top fond of those two.

I do hope that they don't overwork him and push him into the land of Naoki. It did seem like he had an overwhelming presence in Gold, and I hope it doesn't lead to a watering down or generalization of his talent.

"Is it just me, or does Yoshitaka have too much songs in GOLD?"

So, yeah, I do agree with him not being overused... :P


BTW: does Captivate ~Sabaki~ have anything to do with the other Captivates? Do all of them have Yoshitaka in them?

All the CaptivAtes are Yoshitaka + A/I.

Oh dear god, Yoshitaka cannot be the next Naoki. I love him too much for that to happen. D: (Tatsh can go take that position, seriously.)

Actually, I feel that a better way to say it is "Yoshitaka being the next TAKA." Of all the GOLD songs, I counted 6 songs in which Yoshitaka was involved. 2 were crossovers and 1 was a remix of an already existing song. Compare this with 6th style where I believe TAKA had 7 songs (one of which was a crossover). I don't think there's anything to worry about folks.

Quoted character for character from the IIDX GOLD site. The little parenthesis at the bottom says (Translator: Takamasa Tochigi) - one of the programmers for IIDX. Basically Michael is saying "Hi I'm Michael, I'm not a professional lyrics writer but Yoshitaka is my friend and gave me the offer to do this song and I thought of incorporating all the IIDX styles since of the past, yadda yadda yadda I'm an IIDX Fan too and it's an honour to do this song."

But the best line is this one:

EDIT: Wow, I didn't know that he helped TOMOSUKE with the album version of Reaching for the Stars. Also, that Wikipedia is missing his Rainbow Flyer remix for some reason.
