Default Tatsuya "good-cool" Furukawa

no one love this guy? Is he a brother of Motoaki Furukawa?

I love what he did in Sense 2007. it's awesome . his first Eurobeat is In the ruins on pop'n ADVENTURE, and he'll make another one in DJ TROOPERS.

anyone?

Tatsuya Furukawa is good and cool!

Anyways, at suggesting he's Motoaki's brother... xD

Then again, as a pun on names...
Tatsuya Furukawa (good-cool) = Tatsuya Shimizu (Tatsh) + Motoaki Furukawa

Anyways, are you sure that In The Ruins would be his first Eurobeat?

I mean, Last Message is pretty damn Euro, and it appeared in IIDX 7th style...

He probably had some before that (There are quite a lot of good-cool songs I have yet to hear )

MY favorite songs by him would be Sense 2007, be OK, Checking You Out, and Spin the Disc....

The funny thing was that I was thinking about making a thread about this, but was too lazy to do it for some reason. I was actually looking forward to naming it Tatsuya "good-cool" Furukawa. Oh well.

In any case, I remember that in the old days, his songs were not really the focal point of my attention. But recently, I've noticed that he's had a pretty nice streak going with my tastes. I really liked First Resolution, Wana, and Sense 2007, but I still have yet to hear his newest.

I love everything that's on the good-cool super collection, and I like certain songs out of his new stuff. His work with guest artists is always good (Hideo Suwa, Jeff Coote, Raj Ramayya, etc). His style is kind of iconic, which I think some people might say makes all of his songs sound the same, but I definitely like his approach to all the different genres that he experiments with. One of my favorite artists for sure XD At the very least, his songs are a lot of fun to play in IIDX and pop'n....lots of turntable scratches and stuff.

He needs to make more songs like Namidaame Monogatari (Biwa Gatari in Pop'n Music).

About the insane/wonderful scratching in good-cool songs...
I hear he does his own scratching...

I would definitely classify him as one of the best "scratchers" in BEMANI, along with DJ Yoshitaka and DJ Mass/MAD (Watch Out, and Digitank System)

That's quite impossible. Furukawa is a fairly common Japanese surname. XD

What "pretty damn"? It's definitely eurobeat!

And dude, you forgot Blame (from IIDX 8th Style).

And for the record, I think Last Message is his first eurobeat song.

Oh my gosh, I actually love his version of Memories. In fact, that was probably one of my favorite remixes on that album. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I felt he sung it a lot better than TAKA and the colors vocalist (most probably TAKA too).

I agree... I didn't know that he can sing too! Since I relied too much on his DDR stuff. I wonder why all good-cool songs have been removed from DDR ever since Supernova came.

Blame is one of these tracks that many IIDXists blamed for its high difficulty on [another] (pun intended). 11*, if I recall correctly. However, it remains a nice Eurobeat tune, with great vocal works from Jeff Coote.

That said, good-cool is one of those artists who really did make us a hard time with those mass-scratchings: Come With Me, Somebody Like You, Spin the disc (heh!) and the infamous CHECKING YOU OUT ^_^

Really? That sucks... Spin the disc had quite good stepcharts in my opinion, and was perfect for freestyling as well.

Anyways, I think Sense 2007 isn't just "rave", but a sort-of blend between his musical styles. First part of the song is rave-oriented (since it is a reminiscence of the first Sense after all), and when the second part kicks in with the vocals, the sound is quite reminiscent of his "house" songs. The last measures even have these irregular rhythm patterns that are typical of tracks like Hitch Hiker, Skyscraper or Spin the disc.
But then again, it's just my vision of things...

Nice interpretation indeed. Sense 2007 is not rave at all. Good Cool's talents are all showed here. I'll add it on his favorite songs as well as Last Message.

I really still wonder why all of his songs were removed on DDR since Supernova...

There are elements of Rave in it, but mostly for the first half...

The rest, as Digi379 said, is kind of like a mix of his different other genres... :P

It's still more rave than the original Sense though!
