I'd like to say first that I'm not the person who found out Junko's hidden alias.. I was randomly googling for platoniX/Junko info and images and found this blog entry.. and you can see how it all went from there, so thank this lovely stranger for this discovery

I've fallen in love with all of her songs as Ayane, i specially like Fly away and Dolphin Jet, from the album there's this song called カカシ(Orchestra version) which is absolutely beautiful, and the trance album is really well done.

I hope she DOES release a PlatoniX album in the future, because there are a lot of songs many people would like to hear in full, but if she keeps releasing stuff as Ayane i wont be disapointed either.

Oh, I know! the HYPER TRANCE album is amazing. I love the remixes of To the moon, Film Makers, Fractal Tree, and Nageki no Mori the most, but they're all great. And I just can't get the original version of Nageki no Mori out of my head! I've been singing it everywhere I go since I heard the song, haha.

Which album/single is Fly away on?

I think the reason for the lack of a platoniX album is due to Tatsh's hernia...again.

As for the Ayane songs that stuck in my head so far, I would agree with Cat's Eye that カカシ(Orchestra version) [lol Kakashi] sounds beautiful. Nageki no Mori is among the top for me too since it's the first song I heard of all these. Also highly recommended is the Archive Lovers Trance Medley track (not to be confused with the trance album).

I keep thinking MC Natsack is going to randomly pop in after 4:30 in Private Place in the trance album.

The remix to アカシアの木の下で is just awsome too!!!

The Trance albumjust keeps getting better and better, although im not sure if i can call it a trance album anymore since the remix to Film makers is very happy hardcore :P

And Fly Away is on the Kizuna single, it's among my favorites

I have not yet gotten a chance to look into "Ayane"'s stuff but it is up there on my "to do" list in BEMANI related junks. Nageki no Mori has become a favorite of mine, and I can hear Jun singing all day. I'll be sure to check out Kakashi (orchestra version) and all that has been listed.
The Junko Hirata song that urgently needs a long version is "with your smile" from IIDX GOLD.

Wow a Junko Thread...

Well, being an avid Tatsh fan, I am also quite fond of Junko, especially her Voice.

I would say she's one of the best BEMANI vocalists, along with Sana and the like.

My favorite song by her, despite all of her works with Tatsh, would be With Your Smile from IIDX GOLD...

Second is Don't Be Afraid Myself... :P

I can't believe I have been duped for 3 whole years. I thought she is just another Jun in Bemani.

I would like to say that the original Sayane (Sayaka+Ayane) version of UTS is really pretty. As well as DLH (Double Loving Heart). I actually loved her songs when she does it with Sayaka, but Xepher is probably one of the best works too (and one hell of a DDR song).

I like the dance from Don't Be Afraid Myself, but I don't quite like the song. IMHO she is better than Kanako Hoshino and the other Jun(Junko Karashima of TERRA), but she is still not as good a singer as Sayaka IMHO.

She is better than Riyu. Definitely.

Btw Danny I thought Fly Away is by Chiyota?

Hirata-san is definitely in the win category in terms of Bemani vocalists. Her favorite for is still Love Again....

Any music she touches is very well done - which is nore than I Can say for the majority of the vocalists in this league. :P

I will refrain on commenting on that since I really don't think it's fair to compare Kanako, Jun and Sayaka together since they've got different styles of singing.

Ayane's got a pretty impressive track record. Nageki no Mori stayed on the charts for 12 weeks, debuted at 30. This means that she currently ranks higher than BeForU in terms of Oricon placings, but still under Y&Co. Oh wow.

Darkasmusias better not read that xD!

I think a singers style cannot stop from determing who is a better vocalist, because the voice is always the same no matter what style they sing.

And Fly Away by Ayane is not the same as Fly Away by Chiyotia from SN, none of Ayane's music has been featured in any bemani.

And the only difference between Ayane and Junko is the name, she is the same person

Yeah I heard Nageki No Mori and I understood why it is on Oricon for so long. It is even better than AKF's Rocket V4.

I'm sure he meant Bemani songs as Ayane (rather than Junko Hirata). The interesting thing about this is that such a pseudonym is probably used to keep her Bemani life separate from the relatively more mainstream one (is there some sort of stigma with one's involvement in video game music?).

When it comes to saying who's better than another, it can be a little vague whether one's talking about whether a vocalist has better skill or if one may just have a higher personal preference to a particular voice (for example, I may think Saya is the most skilled voice in BeForU, but she's far from my most preferred to listen to). Anyway, since it takes a good ear to define skill, it's probably a good idea to just say that one prefers a voice rather than saying who's better. ...but I'm just rambling again.
