Default Osamu Kubota

Pretty much a IIDX exclusive artist, aside from one song I believe. Osamu Kubota has definetly come a very long way in his Bemani career. He is (IMO) one of the most unique Bemani artists that not many others have attempted to copy, his genre's are usually a sort of piano ambient, progressive jazz or a mixture of the two for the most part, while sometimes throwing in a combination of 2 culture's music to make one song. I believe he entered Bemani around 2000 (IIDX 3rd Style) and is one of the few artists who have continued producing music over 10 styles for Bemani while only being absent in one style (DistorteD). He has made only 1 album (Etude) to which is very unlike his normal "style" where it includes piano ONLY songs without any type of other obviously noteable instruments. If there is other instruments, it lightly supports his piano. For the most part the music produced on Etude is very calm, relaxing, and sad/depressing.

-Osamu Kubota's Homepage
this site includes languages in Japanese, English and also Korean, however, unfortunatley the only language that is available at the time to use is Japanese. The site includes information about him, what songs he has made (even outside of Bemani) and pictures of him and other people he has worked with and some other things. I also heard from somewhere he sells sheets for his music.

**Apparently you can actually e-mail Osamu Kubota, "he" last updated the page on April so I am not sure if he actually responds, I have never tried it, and there is a possibilty its not really him (you never know...) or even if it is him, I am not sure what language/s he speaks in so...yeah let me know if you get some luck.** (I think he speaks English because in the picture comments of Osamu Kubota standing next to a famous artist it says "I briefly met Mr. Serge CUCCA, a great painter from France."

You forgot his godly remix of ANTI-ARES on V-RARE 14: もうひとつの蠍火 ~象牙と羊腸と肉声のための変奏曲

I love Kubota, he's a very unique artist. He's got that whole wordless chorus thing going on that I really like - you can hear it very well in sanctus and Mou Ichido Sasoribi.

Ohhh yeah.... *fixed* and I remembered that song when I was typing in his works around 5th style . I like sanctus and his rearrangement of Scorpion Fire, is there any info on the guy that sings in sanctus, sasoribi, and 1989, because I think they are all the same guy and also, what language is he speaking?

I never really liked 1989, I tried to (especially since that was the year I was born in ) but I couldn't like it. Its the only song by him I don't really like. I think it has to do with the ending not feeling to complete or something...

His remixes are awesome. Only Osamu Kubota can pull off a jazz remix of Nageki No Ki or a Hindu Salsa song

He has multiple albums, actually.
And yes, you can definitely e-mail Osamu. I exchanged several e-mails with him over the course of about a week in order to buy a copy of his sheet music book (shown on his web site), and he is fluent in English. He's a very nice guy, too -- I mailed him and his wife some vitamins that are only sold in the US in exchange for the book (his wife is really into the whole "health & body" scene apparently), and they both wrote me very kind handwritten notes thanking me. I also got an autographed picture and a rare Granado Espada promotional CD out of the deal, so...cool, I guess.

I must say that composition wise, he's one of the more talented Bemani artists out there along with wac and TOMOSUKE.

Anyway, I noticed that still my words is up there. I'm 100% sure that TaQ made that, but I've never heard anywhere about Kubota's contribution. Do you have a source? Also, 1989 is still omitted.

I feel that his songs are quite out of the world, considering his style seems to be a mix of many other cultures.

Which machine is Ace Of Sorrow from?

He's one of my favorite artists - simply because he has such tremendous natural ability.

His take on 嘆きの樹 on the milestone album was simply genius.

Granted - I haven't been too fond of his recent trend of IIDX music (mind the gap and 2hot2eat - blech) - I have been a huge fan of his overarching technical skill.

I'de love to duet with him in my lietime - methinks that would be so much fun...

This is a big obligatory bump for the new song, avant guerre. It just owns too much.

For those who haven't seen it yet: YouTube - 2DX DJ TROOPERS - avant-guerre ANOTHER

Yes! This song is incredible. Watching the video for the song I think makes me like the song even more.
What does avant guerre mean anyways?

avant-guerre means pre-war. And I agree, that is a really really nice song from Osamu Kubota - he's outdone himself this time around. (And the video! The video!)

Me??? Dunno what you're talking about xD!!!

The song & video are awesome, doesn't matter if the video doesn't focus in the "most difficult parts", he composed and arranged the song (I think nobody doubt that =O)... he can play it again... for you xD... (i guess xD)

Estella & Five Regrets should get [A] charts... that would be awesome to play (those are my two favorites of Osamu Kubota)
