Overplayed-to-death/underplayed songs in Bemani

I've never played Dragon Blade but I personally have overplayed sotto and seiron on GF/DM. While sessioning, toccata and that dormir song about the fish-stealing-cat get some punishment from my friends and I.

I dunno what gets over played with pop'n. The song lists are prettty big. Possibly Hard pf while I was at TGA got a lot of play. And Super Mario Brothers Medley.

Xepher...So true. I thought people would stop playing it by now. SigSig is another popular one, but not as overplayed as Xepher.

Ageha was also played a lot when the arcade just got Happy Sky, but most people forgot about all the songs from RED already by now.

Quasar was overplayed when 9th came out, so was Abyss The Heavens Mix. I wish more people would play more songs by D.J. Setup (Giudecca and Spiral Galaxy) and L.E.D. (Ghost Revival and Nebula Grasper).

At my arcade, the Tourist tend to pay We Will Rock you, while the rest of the people play Butterfly, Sakura, and Butterfly again. We also have this one girl who comes in and plays Sexy Planet over and over and over again for atleast 45 minutes.

In DM/GF besides Dragon blade. Agnus Dei gets it's fair share of plays, and so does Lovely Merrie go Round.

Songs that I never ever see anyone play...well, they don't play much, but lemme think. I need good examples, or I'll wind up listing 4/5 of Extreme's song list.

Ska A Go Go was quite whored out when we first got Extreme, believe it or not (was the first song to get to no.1 I think). Same goes for Little Bitch. I haven't seen anyone play it in years though.

Also, no one plays Funky Sonic World?! I thought for sure that song would be whored out. It's a shame no one plays it, seeing as how it's amazingly good and everything.

Phew...I haven't seen enough people play recently to get an idea of the trend, but classically overplayed songs here echo some of the other responses: Butterfly, Sakura, Daikenkai, Dam Dariram for sure, and I've seen Rhythm and Police, Cartoon Heroes, and 1998 on the top 4 list quite frequently. Kind Lady is a close runner-up as well.

As far as underplayed, songs like Love This Feelin, Super Star, and gentle stress are almost never played as far as I've seen.

With ITG, I never see enough people to get any idea of trend. I can personally attest to whoring out Land of the Rising Sun, Queen of Light, Reactor, and Da Roots.

As for future overplays, I think we might as well start referring to DDR Supernova as DDR Xepher Mix. I will play it at least once when we get it, even if five people in front of me have whored it out. It's just too good a song to skip out of courtesy. Dunno if I'll play it much after that, though.

Which raises kind of an OT point-how many of you skip playing a song if a bunch of people in front of you have also played it? I think it's a stupid idea and you should play whatever you want, but I'm curious as to whether other locales consider it a courtesy point.

Cartoon Heroes, underplayed? Not on every Extreme I've ever played on, and believe me I always check (ok, so it wasn't in the top.30 on ONE if I recall, but I played it, and failed because the mat was sticky. Stupid poorly maintained beach arcades that got turned into slot houses a year later...I'm rambling.)

And I've seen Mikeneko Rock played once or twice. At least once. No more than three times though.

DDR Wise- Max 300 and Butterfly are HEAVILY overplayed, along with MANY others. Alot of songs are underplayed..Spin The Disc, Twilight Zone,Stoic, etc.
