Default Shinji Hosoe

aka sampling masters MEGA

He didn't just compose for IIDX. He also composed for other games as well, such as the Street Fighter EX series and the Ridge Racer series.

I fell in love with 1st Samurai and rottel-the-Mercury.

Outside of Bemani I agree, but in the context of Bemani I prefer Mega over Aya (the only one of her three songs I really liked in IIDX was one or eight). The rottel songs are fun, as is outer wall and tablets.

I preffer smMEGA but smAYA makes some good stuff too!

My Favourite song of Shinji Hosoe in BEMANI is without doubt EE-AL-K, is beautiful, I Love it!

Also I like very much rottlel-the-mercury & Violently Car, In this song I think he tries to make some resemblance (dunno if that the world xP) to some Race Games... cause I've heard he also compose music for a lot of Race Games =O

I prefer AYA over MEGA, but both are good. Can this be like... a combined sampling masters thread instead of one just to Mr Hosoe?

Violently Car. Best MEGA song ever.

Did Hosoe really leave Bemani, thus him not making songs for the Bemani games anymore like Hirofumi Sasaki or TaQ?

I hear sanodg, who is to remix a song in the upcoming L.E.D. album is considered as part of the "Sampling Masters"...

Any truth to this?

Also, what other games have the sampling masters made music for?

Collectively, Hosoe, Saso and Sano are "Namco Sampling Masters." And the one game that really comes to mind when someone says Sampling Masters is Ridge Racer, which is probably the reason why I like Violently Car.

I think he was an commissioned artist since the beginning, much like Ryu and kors k.

Anyways, I'm a little surprised no one have mentioned 2 of his Konami game music remixes that appeared on Keyboard Mania 3rd Mix (Sensation from Salamander 2 (one of my faves), and EE-AL-K, a remix of the BGM for Yee Ar Kung Fu). But judging from the obscurity (kinda) of KM, oh well...

EDIT: Oops! Ebisumaru did mentioned EE-AL-K lol. xP

Speaking of Salamander 2, is he the one who composed its soundtrack? Or did he just remixed them (much like Mr. T did with songs like Gradius Full Speed, and Burning Heat!, in which the originals were made by Motoaki Furukawa)?

My question somewhat hasn't been answered.

It's that he hasn't been composing songs for the Bemani series after pop'n 13, and in one of Pepe's posts in the ask a Bemani artist a question thread, he added sampling masters MEGA as one of the artists in a quoted version of my "COME BAAAAAAAAACK!!!" post.

That's because he's an awesome composer and I want him to come back...

Now that I think about it, I don't have a single MP3 of any of the Sampling Master's songs... I've only experienced their awesomeness by hearing it played on IIDX machines...

Okay, so I had some information clarified about the sampling masters. There are four of them (as confirmed by Madame Aya herself) - AYA (Saso Ayako), MEGA (Hosoe Shinji), sanodg (Sano Nobuyoshi) and J99 (Aihara Takayuki).

God, I really want those sampling masters albums.

Those albums would be awesome to have.

Also I heard he used to do work for Squaresoft back in the day, such as the Busido Blade and possibly eihander game.

I love AYA and MEGA
