But, his stuff is pretty good. I liked some of the soundtracks he did like for Rumble Roses and for Winning Eleven and what not and some of the Castlevania.
Oh and did I mention that his version of Look to the Sky = win.

Anyway, I'll admit that Look to the Sky is a nice song, but I've always felt it kind of over rated. My favorites by him are actually the 2 ANDROMEDA's and The Hope of Tomorrow, which I believe to be underappreciated in themselves.
As for the songs-sounding-similar thing, I actually find them very easy to differentiate. I can't think of any two songs by him that sound similar aside from ANDROMEDA and ANDROMEDA II, which was intentional (okay, I just thought of Rise'n Beauty and LttS, but still). I believe that saying that they sound alike just because they're all synthesizers is just like saying that all piano songs sound alike, or all violin songs sound alike, etc (in context, that's like saying Scorpion Fire and fffff sound alike). I believe that he's able to create a good variety of different moods despite his limited use of instruments, but that's just me.
As for his non-synthesizer stuff, there's a whole world of difference. That's not necessarily a good thing though. Case in point: Forever Sunshine.

100% minimoo-G, it's a Contra-like song. Interesting!
PLASMA, Number 1!
others: The Hope of Tomorrow, Back Into the Light, ANDROMEDA(never heard of ANDROMEDA II T_T), WINNING ELEVEN 9 Opening Theme, etc.

I like them both - from IIDX, I prefer his more instrumental-type music (e.g. with you...), while from DDR, I like his more retro-styled themes (e.g. Saturday NIght Love).
Overall, I like his DDR music better though.

Yoko Kuzuya and it's really damn pretty. It's like a blend between his IIDX tranceysynth filled loved stuff and his DDR discowannabehawtness music. I haven't seen it anywhere though...

2. In regards of his appearance in IIDX, does he conform to the "whichever AC franchise one artist has composed the most songs for makes him/her a full-time composer for that game" unwritten rule, given that he has more AC IIDX compositions than he does have AC DDR songs. So, does this mean that he's nothing more than a guest artist in DDR?

All of his songs prior to Star Gate Heaven (Kind Lady, LttS, PARANOiA -Respect-, Saturday Night Love, etc) were home version debuts.

It's just that, in another thread, the following was claimed: Quote:

I'm Sota, and I love synthesizers more than girls or having three meals a day♪
| It's a gem of a quote, seriously. I really think Sota is vastly underappreciated and that he was smoking some sort of crack when he composed 100% minimoo-G. That song is seriously messed up.

Don't think anyone has even attempted that up until that point, or afterwards. I give that guy a trophy for being etremely original for that one.

The beginning reminds me of a song from Super Monkey Ball (but in a good way). When I saw it was Sota feat. Yoshiko, I actually thought it would be something like LttS -Reiko- but I was surprised with some house. Yoshiko's voice works quite well with it.
