The genre is Asian Mixture in Pop'n Music 13 Carnival (As a part of Bemani Expo).
Although the artist's name is shown as 菜-sai-, the music information page shows that the song is a collaboration of Hideyuki Ono (小野秀幸) and Tatsh. This is why the song sounds so cool. | Wow, I learn something new everyday. It kind of makes sense since Kachoufusetsu ( 華蝶風雪) is supposedly also made by him with the genre of Asian Mixture (under the pseudonym Byakko). Hey, there's another one not on the list.

-_-
BTW, has anyone ever seen Junko Hirata working with anyone other than Tatsh?

A new partial songlist for IIDX GOLD just came out and it had a song that had Junko Hirata with Shoichiro Hirata (Sho-T, Shawn the Horny Master, etc.). I wonder if they got together to take advantage of the play on words or if they are indeed related in some sort of fashion.
EDIT: Wow, I always thought it was Yoshitaka who made those two extra tracks in the Hoshino album.

On that note though, who was responsible for the arrangement, anyway? Was it Naoki? Because if it was he needs to make more songs like that one, but it rocked. LOTS. That said though, my money is on Yoshitaka for that one too. He needs to release an album already. <3

I was referring to Hakugen and Hello Again, which to my knowledge, didn't appear in any games so far. I guess it just surprised me that Tatsh did those since it appears that Yoshitaka is Hoshino's primary sound producer. Meanwhile, I do agree with you that Regret and TAIYO kicked ass, and I liked Gekkou a lot as well. I could have went with SPARK! instead of D.A.N.C.E.! since there was already a long version in the IIDX RED OST. As for who arranged the album version of TAIYO, I honestly have no idea, but if it was Yoshitaka, I'm sure that it would show up more conspicuously. As much as it totally blew the short version away, it didn't really sound that different.

I mean, I might just be saying this because I'm used to his NAOKI underground stuff, but really, Naoki's trance, more often than not, doesn't sound as Cyber J-Idolish as 太陽 ~T・A・I・Y・O~ did. If that was indeed NAOKI though, cheers to him for expanding his range of music even further.
Oh, and I knew you were talking about Tatsh, but I meant to say something along the lines of, "Yeah, Tatsh did the two extra songs, but Yoshitaka still did regret, so WOOT!". Heh. I guess I'm going to have to try to be less vague next time.

In my opinion, there were a couple other trancey things he made that may live up to the caliber of long TAIYO. Hello Aoi Shoudou...it just so happens that this and TAIYO are my two favorite NAOKI songs not counting usual collabs. Also, begin, glacial, and Shooting Star were pretty good too.

SHOOTING STAR, on the other hand, kinda bored me on account of its pretty forgettable vocals. I mean, it wasn't that Riyu's singing was particularly bad...it just didn't do anything for me at all.

1) Sota Fujimori
2) DJ Yoshitaka
3) Tatsh
4) platoniX
Tatsh trance? Is there any? Would you want any? I didn't count Under the Sky, BTW.

Meanwhile... isn't Reiji Sakurai that guy who won the same contest as Hoshino Kanako?

I came across this page, which had to do with the 2004 Bemani auditions. I now have a stupid curiosity as to whether Kanako auditioned for BeForU as well. Looking back at this, I so cannot see her switching places with Risa, Sayaka, or Miharu while one of those 3 takes off with a relatively large solo career. edit: heh, guess this is for the other thread.

Kanako might have one that one...but that said however, 2004 was a long time ago, and I memory sucks, so take that with a grain of salt.

From what I gather from the website, it seems that there were three auditions held simultaneously - BeForU's next generation, male vocalist and female vocalist. It also says something about the male and female vocalists being of a different style... hm. Interesting.
Anybody got a recent picture of Reiji Sakurai? I'm curious how he looks now as opposed to how he looked in 2004.
