Default For those wondering what happened to Paula Terry

For those who've been around since DDR 4th Mix and so on, her name seems very familiar to you. What some of you may not know is that she is a jazz and bossanova singer performing as a vocalist in night clubs through Greater Tokyo Area. She also stated that she has been in Japan for at least 6 years.

See here:
Paula Terry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then obviously, she is one of the few foreign artists supplying voices to BEMANI songs. Don't know what her last song is though (was it Raspberry Heart???). Was it in 2004???

In any case, she is not with BEMANI anymore as she know voices songs for NAMCO in their Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune game series. Ever since version 2 came out (sometime mid-2004), she has already made the shift to NAMCO and that's when Tahirih Walker came in to fill in that spot.

Personally, I do like both female singers (although I slightly prefer Tahirih Walker more) but I feel that Paula Terry 'working' for NAMCO is a positive move as well. Since she is just performing her voice on BGM songs, her task may seem to be lighter.

Here is also a short interview of her and her experiences living in Japan.
Metropolis - Life in Japan: Paula Terry

Tahirih Walker has officially taken over everything that Paula Terra was and could have been. :|

After hearing songs like Happy Angel and Why Did You Go Away and Crossroad already state that it is fact. Dunno if she sung True Love though with Junko Karashima.

In fairness to Paula Terry though, her songs are now better when she does them for NAMCO. Perhaps it's due to her singing BGM songs which are less tiring than what she does when she sings songs for KONAMI.

What I'm saying is that if you heard her songs in Maximum Tune 2-3 (such as "Cause You're Different" and "Feel the Moment"), you can definitely tell that her songs are worth listening to and this becomes a selling point in the game (as well as its OST Soundtrack).

In short, yeah.
Tahirih Walker for KONAMI and Paula Terry for NAMCO.

Well, the artist credit is jun feat. Schanita. There are some google links popping up here and there for a Schanita who lives in Japan and who sings gospel and R&B but at the moment, it's pretty hazy who she is.

Will pay good money for a DDRX2 poster/archstand.

I actually miss Paula Terry a lot, even though i do like Tahirih, i think i am one of the few people who do enjoy her vocals.

Now that i know she is with namco the e-mail she sent me actually makes sense..

Before i was like "WTF? Does she mean her jazz performances? cause she's been doing that for a while" but now it makes sence.

She sent me that e-mail a month like 2 months ago as a reply to one i sent her myself when i purchased her new song on her website.

I never knew that she produced a trance song for Avex Group back in year 2000.

Heck, they even have a sample of it on her website:

Orbitribe (sample music file)
http://www2.gol.com/users/paulat/mp3...n%20sample.mp3

Sounds really amazing to really hear how her voices shines brilliantly when mixed with the mind-blowing instrumentals. It's sounds so brilliant that I actually feel like experimenting on this track through Ableton Live 6. I mean, the progression alone is already a killer to a point that this song truly belongs to the league of "UPLIFTING TRANCE". . It's so good that if this song were to be put on DI.FM, I wouldn't be able to imagine the number of people raving about this in the Vocal Trance channel over there.

And egad, I can't believe that I have never thought about it. This is MOST OBVIOUSLY THE REASON as to why NAMCO picked Paula Terry to do trance BGM songs for their Maximum Tune game series (versions 2-3).

P.S.
Yesasia.com still says that they have copies of the Tune On album from Avex Group

According to them....so if this is true, then I'm gonna buy it ASAP.

Because the trance tunes seem killer

Thanks for that heads-up (I'm kinda rusty with these things)

Speaking of that though, is there also a way to purchase her trance songs through her website? I noticed that there was a "SHOP" section on her website (Paula Terry - Membership at Paula Terry.com) but it only features one song ("It's cool") and does not list any of her trance songs.

Still, would it be possible to buy her trance songs from the site itself or is there something that I need to do first before this would be possible? Coz I might be able to get it cheaper by purchasing through her website (since I'm such a cheapshit person )

Cat's Eye, can you show me how?

Thanks again

EDIT:
Wahoo, I've finally made my 500th post here on Bemanistyle.com 7.5

If you're gonna buy something off her website the shop takes you to a PayPal page, you don't need an account to buy, you just enter your card info, if you're gonna buy music (it's cool), she personally (or at least to me) sends you the song to the email you used on paypal.

Unfortunately you are not able to buy her trance songs on her site, i would be soo happy to have them again T.T
