I know there's already a thread for him. But I didn't really want to request a new decent one for this wonderful musician and programmer.

So yeah, guys. Let's talk about his works on BEMANI and KONAMI in general, like Metal Gear :D.

I love L.E.D.

A lot. The stuff he did for Zone of the Enders was pretty awesome and there was one of the stages in Zone of the Enders in which I lingered for the longest time possible because I loved the music and it was one of his bgms.

Other than that, Kakuta's got some really interesting bemani stuff under his L.E.D., L.E.D.-G, L.E.D. LIGHT and L.E.D. LIGHT-G aliases. But I'm a particular fan of his vocal work (the stuff with Maiko Horisawa especially) and his Sana remixes (And The Shining Polaris.) as well.

And of course...

Denjin Jaeger ftw.

Something that i really apreciate about L.E.D. is that he do part of the charts and stuff, what i know, is that he's the one that extracts the sounds for the charts, dunno if he made the charts but he extracts the sounds xP.

I'm really sad about the DogTag stuff in Metal Gear Solid 2 xP, he didn't get a DogTag and (according to MGS2 Credits) he did some drum loops for the game and a lot of stuff, and he didn't get one, at other hand Sanae Shintani (Sana) get one... and the only thing she did in all the game was say (in Japanese) "The entire thing is gonna explode" (well she didn't say exactly that xD)... unfair xP!! My Brother was looking for Toshiyuki's DogTag xD!

His first pop'n music song (Soul On Fire) Rules xD!

Excuse me? I think we both make your brother look for Toshiyuki's DogTag on the game! I still think it's unfair he did more than Sana on the game and Kojima didn't give him a dog tag :/ so dissapointed of Kojima!

As kannazuki, I also love L.E.D's vocal works such as PHOTONGENIC but I simply love his instrumental works super-heavy-psychedelic trance, as his complicated charts for IIDX

First, I kind of want to request that the name "L.E.D." to appear somewhere in this thread title. Some of his biggest fans may not know his real name, and thus miss this thread (I for one didn't know this off the top of my head).

Anyway, I'll have to agree that his work with vocalists thus far have been superb. And I do remember not being a big fan of his way back in the day, but songs like PHOTONGENIC, IXION, and DAWN -THE NEXT ENDEAVOR- made me reconsider. Also, I must say that that new Denjin Jaeger song in IIDX Gold wins. It's my favorite in the series and the Ryu* remix is hard to top.

By the way, whoever does the leveling system for his songs seems to undershoot a lot. These charts tend to be regarded really difficult thanks to that.

I like his songs he does with GUHROOVY a lot. And there's a new one in IIDX15, this is the best thing to happen since that crackhead stopped panhandling off my favorite off-ramp!

Few people know about his name, and it took some time to me to learn it because I was used to call him 'L.E.D.'. He has many songs with GUHROOVY and No+Chin, such as 'Step In To The New World', and I'm not quite sure, but seems their first song together was 'SHOWDOWN TO LIVE', in beatmania. Toshiyuki's new song for VJ TROOPERS is 'THE DEEP STRIKER' and, IMHO, it seems very influenciated by Kosuke Saito's (kors k) hardcore style, knowing they did SSS together. Well I guess Toshiyuki took some of Kosuke's style.

Yeah, I figure that may be true, but my point is that it's not an eye catcher for those who don't know him that well (like those who really like his songs but don't really keep tabs on him). With a forum so huge, it may be less likely for people to click on a thread with a guy's name they've never heard about (the rare media discussion regulars are an exception

). In any case though, you can still get your point across and teach fans his real name if it's entitled Toshiyuki Kakuta (aka L.E.D.), but that's just my opinion.

It's funny you should bring that up, since I was starting to think that either GUHROOVY or kors k may have taught him a thing or two when making Outer Limits another.

I Love L.E.D (and all aliases) he is something special in the Bemani scene and nobody handles Electronica and Technoish cyber stuff like he does. I personally Heard his newest song ''The Deep Striker'' from IIDX15 and its awsome

I dont know a lot about him...or dont even know how he looks like exactly and his age and stuff...ppl told me he looked like Dj Taka...lol...

That's the same thing I was thinking with his gabba-ish songs (The Deep Striker and OLA) until I remembered that its probably the other way around. Even though he works with kors k and GUHROOVY, L.E.D. was one of the first people to use gabba in bemani, anybody remember Hell Scaper?

And I heard Guhroovy is Dj Chucky and someone else, can someone confirm?

Yeah, okay I guess that is a pretty good confirmation

Anyways, I have been really surprised with L.E.D. recently with his new stuff. I love his full versions that he composed. IMOm he makes one of the best full versions out of most of bemani. I can't stop listening to the full versions of Lovely Storm and Strong Jaeger
