DDR and ITG hold a very close second, DDR for the music overall and ITG for some the stepcharts.
Wait...why do I have to choose just 1? I love them all!

More variety, more challenges (quads, spins, freezes and insane slowdowns/stops on some songs) and the BGAs literally seduce you to play the songs. (Eres Para Mi girl, I blame you for making me play Pump!). And, to quote one person: Quote: |

So there.

PIU's layout confuses me, and ITG is usually too much bar-rape. :

I thought it was bad in DDR.
I've only seen four people pass Pandy Expert without a bar. Myself is one of them. And no, I'm not bragging. Well, passing any song w/o a bar is bragging in itself...

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I'll admit I voted DDR partially because I've never taken much of a look at PIU. Now there's a PIU machine at my arcade; I might take a look at it, though I never was much of a fan of arcade play. And to play PIU at home I'd have to change my homemade metal pads to put in PIU's directional arrows, or buy a PIU pad.
I did try ITG, though, and at home too (because it was much more convenient to try than PIU would be :P). I kind of liked it a little, but I never really got into the lack of an announcer or the songlist; also, the long cuts and not very memorable stepsets didn't help either. Finally, I decided that passing one 11-footer (Charlene, which is probably obviously the one I passed for those who love ITG) was enough and that I didn't really enjoy the ridiculous Expert charts all that much, especially not with the longer song cuts.
I've been playing DDR for 7 years; DDRMAX US home is probably my favorite game of all time. It's rare for me to find a bunch of DDR songs or even steps that I don't like (though DDRMAX2 US home tested my patience if I recall correctly). Lately with the more recent DDR home versions there's clearly (for me) been a need for the series to come alive again, and I hope that's what got pulled together with Supernova. I hope to see new Konami originals on the level of songs like Groove, Saturday Night Love, Look to the Sky, and Leading Cyber; I hope for licenses as good as Never Gonna Make, Young Forever, Rhythm and Police (KOG G3 Mix), and MIRACLE.
Yeah. So, DDR.
