Marketplace Rating: 0 | Favorite Akira Yamaoka songs? Empty of the Sky is my favorite song of his, it even comes with a cool story. Here goes: The first time I heard this song was on a Stepmania machine about nine months ago, and I remebered loving it so much. The video was so cool, everything was awesome. It's the one song that made me want to get SM, the problem was once I got SM I couldn't remember the name of it, I couldn't find it. I wanted to remember what song it was so bad, because it carries the memories of my prized vacation to Reno last year. The vacation that in the end, lead me here to bemanistyle. I had almost given up hope of finding out what it was, but recently I just decided to downloaded a bunch of random Akira Yamaoka sims, and I stumbled across it. I was so happy, you don't know. I love that song, and the video to death.
I also like:
Injection of Love (Hina Mix) - Yes I like the version without lyrics a lot more.
You're Not Here - I find it awesome they put music from Silent Hill on DDR. I love this song, and the video is cool.
[EDIT] iFuturelist, even though it sounds like they're barking in it.
What songs do you like?

In general, the ones I like are the ones vocalized by ric/riewo, which are also usually his trance songs. Aside from in my eyes, LOVE WILL... and RISLIM, I believe she also vocalized songs like Awakening, Heavenly Sun, Love Me Do, Empty of the Sky, i feel..., etc. (I still have yet to find 100% confirmation with this though). The ones with Sana are also really good (hello Ryuusei Honey).
As for the misses, I don't think it's his fault, but it's just my taste in the various other genre he composes. Stuff like 250bpm, SPACE FIGHT, BRING HER DOWN, and bitmania are stuff I'm not too crazy about.

I just liked everything this guy makes. He's up there with Slake and all the other great Bemani muscians, in my opinion. There needs to be more AKIRA YAMAOKA in everything.

Although, is that song sort of a sequel or at least a spiritual sucessor to Shouwa? They both sound really similar.

Ah, never mind.
I can't really list a favorite, because I like most of his music. RISLIM knocked me off my seat (and that remix does the original NO justice), in my eyes made me smile, Love Will... still brings back many memories, i feel... made 7th Style worth playing (besides stoic, A, and Spica. . .but I digress), System Romance cracks me up, EMPTY OF THE SKY is one of the best songs on HS, and the music and lyrics of Heavenly Sun still confuse me (Angel's smile. . .oh, a corrputed angel's smile).
Injection of Love is funny to play. Especially around Japanese tourists.
I want the iFUTURELIST album, for the full versions of EMPTY OF THE SKY and RISLIM.

Marketplace Rating: 4 | I'm going to agree with the rest of my friends and go with "he's all right". AKIRA YAMAOKA is capable of making good stuff, but I don't immediately get excited when I see a new song by him...I'd have to hear it first. I like a lot of his trance stuff, and ライオン好き/DANCER are pretty nifty too, but I disliked iFUTURELIST (both the song and the album) lots. I guess overall, he's pretty hit or miss, but I welcome his inclusion in the various Bemani games, because his unique style is usually a welcome addition to whatever he's part of.
