From most favorite to least favorite, my Cardinal Gate list is as goes:

嘆きの樹 - An evil notechart that is obviously not for the faint of heart.
Ganymede - It manages to mesmerize/scare some players and listeners.
CONTRACT - Fast. Paced. And. DistorteD.
華蝶風雪 - I have nothing to say about this.

So I randomly feel like bringing this back up again now that the long versions are out.

Anyway, I originally voted Kachoufusetsu awhile ago given that there were only short versions. Taking into account the long versions, I'll now say that of them, CONTRACT gets my vote with Ganymede as a close second. waxing and wanding is fine if I tune out the voices again, but I didn't feel like much had been done to Kachoufusetsu and Nageki no ki.

wow, CONTRACT is epic on the CDC cd! i despised it in DD (probably because of the scales in the notechart), but also musically i didnt like it.

Definately Kachoufuusetsu. After Maybe Nageki No Ki...but i dont like Ganemede, Maybe because it means a mean word in my language xD !

I didn't like the fact that 華蝶風雪 was just mostly repeated sounds of the original. But hey, I LOVE the beginnings to waxing and wanding and Ganymede. Both very creepy. NOT something you want to listen to while walking outside in the dark (from experience).

My favorite used to be CONTRACT, but after hearing waxing and wanding long, my opinion switched. Somehow, the voices seem a lot more tolerable now.

Someone need to decipher waxing and wanding. Now.

I'd say my fave is Kachofusesu, then Contract, and Waxing and Wanding tie, then Nageki no Ki, since I wore that one out ages ago. I'm startin to really like Ganymede, but it's position is rather undetermined in my head, as it's a lot different from the others.

Nageki no Ki's long version didn't seem all that good to me. It's a nice bit of variation, but now it's lots the orchestrated touch to it. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but the others overshadow it.

Ooh, this is tough...it's a tie between the long versions of Nageki no Ki and Waxing and Wanding...though...I think I prefer Nageki no Ki over WaW.
