Because I haven't, and I've been playing games since Intellivision.

Nope. I was hooked to ddr for about 4 yrs. Once i got started with iidx, ddr got really boring. I still want to get into drummania and pop n' music though. I heard those are fun and addicting games also.

I do find Guilty Gear XX and Melty Blood: Act Cadenza VERY fun games to play, but only against other people. It's a close one...

Two Words :
GUITAR HERO

Srsly, what the crap is IIDX? Oh, yeah, I remember that game! It came out just over a year and a half ago and is a total knockoff of Guitar Hero.

Oh, and game I've been playing more than IIDX for the last couple of months : Tetris The Grandmaster 2 The Absolute PLUS (or something like that)

Man, I love that game. Guitar Hero is a ball of sarcasm, TGM2? Not at all

Bioshock and Pop'n Music. :P
I'm waiting for my Hellgate: London beta key.
Maybe this one is more fun, too.

Well aside from a few PC games (ie. Counterstrike 1.6/Source, C&C series from First Decade to Tiberium Wars, Battle Realms, COH and Battlefield2142), racing games for consoles/PC (ie. I'm a die-hard fan of the Gran Turismo series and Ridge Racer 7 as well as Forza 2) and those in public places (ie. WANGAN MIDNIGHT MAXIMUM TUNE 3 and Initial D 4), BM IIDX is the only game I ever play.

I still like DDR more than IIDX, as I do pop'n music. I've never really fallen under the IIDX spell, though I do play the games now and again (mostly 7th, RED, and Happy Sky: 9th style can kiss my ass).

I found Tetris still addicting as hell and waay less complicated. The game Luminous, I considered better than IIDX, it's just too damn fun. Also games like Guild Wars get me engrossed into the gameplay more than IIDX.

Plenty of games I've played have been more "fun" than IIDX. Sometimes, I want to throw my IIDX controller out the window. However, no game has helped me with my hand strength, dexterity, and reflexes as much as IIDX has. And the game becomes more fun as your skill increases, like any Bemani game, as long as you're willing to put in the effort and take your progression one step at a time.

However, my favorite Bemani game is still Drummania, and I'll probably never get tired of it. The learning curve is just right, the music is excellent, and it looks really impressive when you get really good at it.

This is pretty much a "what is your favorite video game" thread disguised as something IIDX related.

Someone either close this or move it to the Polls forum

I know, it's all like, if I want a lame game where I press buttons, I'll go play Halo, right?

I've played Starcraft: Brood War for the longest time.

What could be worse?

I've played Diablo 2 since beta came out over 7 years ago, and the only reason I quit is because a year ago my friends and I got banned for maphacking and botting.

If I spent all that time playing IIDX, I would've kicked DOLCE in the ass right now, but too bad.

So... games that may be more fun than IIDX:

Pop'n Music - I love Pop'n, but it's not even in the same league for me. The music isn't nearly as good, and hitting the big buttons just isn't as satisfying as the keys and TT.

BioShock - Amazing game, and I'm having a hell of a time playing through it. But is it as "fun" as IIDX? And will I still be playing it in a year? I don't think so.

DDR - I'm sorry, but this just seems lame to me. I admit I've never tried it, so I may be totally off, but prancing around on a dance pad, while not affecting the music AT ALL just doesn't sit well.

Thanks for your concern, champ. I'm pretty sure the mods are quite capable of closing or moving threads should they feel that's necessary.
