It's obvious that the DDR series has dwindled both in popularity and in music the past few years, relying far too much on crossovers and licenses instead of actual new material. When was the last time you thought DDR was cool, though?

Supernova doesn't count, as it just came out. Home versions, Japanese, European, and American alike, shouldn't be calculated in because they vary incredibly in overal quality.

Cool is incredibly subjective. Do you mean cool as in still fun to play or cool as in the 'in' thing to do. Because I don't think it ever was a huge fad or anything, but I still like to play it.

As in the last time you enjoyed playing DDR or cared for the franchise as a whole. Many people cite out 3rd or 5th as the height of DDR, and that Supernova is incredibly disappointing.

Well, I still care about the series. I preordered Supernova and I'm enjoying it, and I can't wait for the Ultramix and Universe games.

And you don't have a choice for opinions like mine on your poll. :P

I still play the X-BOX and PS2 games as well. But I mean in the sense more so of arcade cool than home console cool. After all, people still talk about Keyboardmania 5 years after it's been cancelled thanks to the PS2 releases and the lucky few who get to still play it in arcades.

I still think it's cool. But this might have something to do with the fact that I haven't really been able to play an arcade version in ~6 months (damn, has it really been that long?).

I'm a fan of arcade culture in general, though it does seem to be dying out in all but the most historic locales.

SuperNOVA was just... ugh.
But the theme was attractive.
The arcade release I enjoyed was Extreme. It had a variety from all different mixes of DDR and some from Beatmania, GF/DM, and KB Mania as well.

I used to think DDR was amazing back in '05, when Extreme was still the latest arcade installment. Then I began playing ITG, and have hardly played on a DDR machine ever since.

I remeber playing DDR for the first time on a MAX2 machine that my college had in its arcade. At the time, I thought it was cool and really started getting into the music game genre. I think it was due to the music and the color theme that the game had.

Extreme, while it has a large collection of music, didn't seem to capture my attention as much as MAX2, possibly because almost off the Extremes that I have played on were in bad to terrible condition.

I still think the concept of DDR is pretty cool, same with most music games out there.

After the arcade releases slowed down and ITG came out, I ended up moving on, but it's still enjoyable for me to play.

I don't know, SuperNOVA made me think DDR is cool again, only because of the fact that OMES is much easier to achieve. More run for my money.

Beatmania came out before DDR, so: never.

I've loved DDR since the first time I saw it.

And still do. Maybe not as much, but that's probably because I haven't gotten to play in a while. When I do play, I get really into it.
