Double elimination, unless they decide to do it American Idol style like what was planned at MMS. Dunno if they'll do plaques again this year, I'd almost doubt it.

Nobody entered the DM tournament at BMF because they all said I'd win and it wouldn't be any fun. It just turned out to be negative fun.

You'd be better off than me, I had to miss my English AP test to make it last year. Now I have to read books in college, go figure.

Also studentuniverse rocks, I left the order page idle for my flight to Chicago, the session cancelled, and they gave me a $15 dollar discount. $321 roundtrip from Santa Barbara/LAX is pretty good.

Pretty much going to be working as much as I can on game room this week and next week and hopefully get some contracts out.

Musical guest this year: HALCALI.

Hey you! I remember we were talking a little bit at the GF/DM V4 test location about me bringing my machines. The only one I could for sure bring provided if I could get the transportation to move it is a PPP 2nd mix machine. Would that be okay or are you looking for more popular Bemani/arcade games?

We'll talk about it soon, I'll probably message/text/e-mail/call if that's cool, but I need to figure out some other stuff first.

...like making sure I have monies for other things =/

I really hope the DDR tournament is better run this year. Last year was a disaster.

Basically, the guy running it seemed like he'd never run a tournament before. We (meaning the collective players and the host) spent about 45 minutes arguing about mods, the qualifier, how many rounds, single/double elimination, and a myriad of other bogus. Then, once we FINALLY got settled on how it would be set up (if I remember right, we decided on 3 song sets, and then a 5 song set for the final, or something like that), someone came by (might've been June) and informed us that we were pretty much out of time, so they shortened everything but the final down to 1 song rounds.

It sucked. Hard.

I'm planning on going again this year if I can. My time will be split between Bemani related activities and cosplay related activities though.

I went to the Bemanistyle panel last year. It was very entertaining.

I came. Now the suspense is killing me.

I can come a day or two early to help set things up in the arcade room or help run tournaments. That description of the DDR tournament sounds like horseshit. If the guy was going to run the tournament he should at least know what the rules and such were going to be BEFORE going into it. There was a small local tournament here during fall and the rules were no mods out of nowhere because people were choosing different mods (one person would have 1.5 and another would have 2x for example) so they said no mods halfway through. I think they did it because the people running it had NO idea what they were doing. Shit like that can be avoided easily as long as you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING jeez.

@ Baka - I'm usually online after 6-7PM each night if you want to hit me up via AIM. My phone doesn't get reception at my mom's house and I'll be here until Sunday so if you plan on calling, any time after Sunday is fine. And yeah, I should probably have PM'ed you all this but my inbox is just about full.... umyeahhhh heh.
