Haha yeah, Chris is working on getting the Gold kit again from the same guy, but yeah, BM coin mechs seem to really hate quarters and nickels (no surprise I guess though...quarters are bigger than 100 yen coins, nickels are fatter). And the vomit...damn hotel wouldn't come downstairs to clean for...4 hours? Jerks.

I later found out you would have to hit rediculously early visually because of the timing lag to stream JGs. Not to mention, the machine picture quality what way too bright to the point I could not play any song with any sort of note density because I could not see shit. The screen isn't as vivid and filled with contrast as it should've been.

Put it this way, I fail candy galy [a] miserably because I couldn't see a damn thing and I walk up to the dealer's room with their CSDD setup+IIDX KASC and get a AAA-9X on AA [a]. Maybe other players didn't care as much (it's an IIDX machine! once in a lifetime for most people), but I certainately did and everyone I talked to noticed the timing lag but still enjoyed playing on the machine.

and to Ichibo/phorrest, I never saw any of you after I got sick of playing on the machine. Suppose I did see you guys and told you what I thought of the machine, what would you do? Tell me to deal with it? Who cares about one guy's opinion. It was the most succesful out of the obscure bemani games (GF/DM Pop'n Music, etc). No need to fix the machine if it still rakes in quarters.

If anything the screen is dim not bright. TV is old style and has no timing lag. AC timing is different than CS. I've played on probably 12 different IIDX machines and it felt comparable to others I've tried. Many of the machines I tried it Japan had wildly varying display/timing syncing. From the little I played of it I was AAing 11/12s without that much trouble.

I was around the game room pretty constantly, if not at IIDX itself. If I'm going to make the effort to unload and set up all these bemani machines I'd just as soon people be enjoying it. I don't know about phorrest but I'd be more than willing to change the monitor settings if people don't like it.

The only thing I heard was 'coin mech is broken'. That, and the time Aubrey fucked something up with the IO.

If anyone remembers the DM machine's monitor flaking out the last day of last year, we've fixed that. Sync wire was poorly spliced with electrical tape and was losing connection.

It sounds like we will be bringing IIDX if we can get that Gold kit again.

I was mostly shocked at how people around the IIDX machine didn't seem to care that much about the vomit haha.

Edit: This is Ichibo. phorrest left his account set to auto-login.

OK yeah I thought I was nuts.

Velius: CRT's and projections do not have lag. It's not that you necessarily have to hit early, but it's tighter. AC's always been like that. CS Bemani games (DDR and IIDX in particular) has always had more lax timing.

Shimamura's set got cut off, so I've heard, which was a shame because the same thing happened when he played in the UK. :/

Shimamura wasn't cut, we had serious technical issues all night and the speakers the party was running on were seriously about to die so we offered to let him play the soap bubble so we could guarantee him a full set. He will be playing tonight, possibly with another special guest.
