Tournament Rules Overall Tournament Rules
1) Scoring will be determined by the percentage score system of In The Groove 2.
2) The highest percentage at the completion of the song will be the winner of the song.
3) Bar Usage is allowed.
4) Any arguments about rule 3 will result in immediate removal from the tournament.
5) The following modifications (mods) are allowed: Speed (1x, 2x, 3x, etc.), Turn (Left, Right, Shuffle, etc.), Reverse, and Orientation (Hallway, Overhead, Space, Incoming, etc.).
6) Constant Speed Modifications (CMods) are only allowed if the song does not have a BPM change. Usage of a CMod on BPM change song will disqualify the score for that round. It is the player’s responsibility to be aware of these songs.
7) Modification usage that is not approved in rules 5 and 6 will result in disqualification for that round.
8) Songs must be chosen from the “Approved Folders List” on pages 5 and 6.
9) Players must win a best 2 out of 3 songs to advance in the tournament bracket.
10) The tournament bracket is based on the standard Double Elimination format.
11) If a player loses a round, they are moved to the “Loser’s Bracket”.
12) If a player loses two rounds, they are removed from the tournament bracket.
13) The high seed out of the 2 players determines the side of the machine they wish to play on, as well as who chooses the first song.
14) In the event of a tie, the song round will be replayed on the tournaments random song format. Random Songs are decided using the “Random” function on the song wheel, and will be chosen on a specific difficulty setting (Easy for Novice, Hard for Hard, Expert for Expert) that corresponds with the tournament.
15) In the event of a pad malfunction that is verified by the tournament line judge (commonly known as a “Pad Way Off” or “Pad Miss”, the song will be stopped immediately and replayed.
16) If multiple “Pad” errors occur, the tournament will briefly be stopped and the machine will be serviced immediately by the tournament technicians.
17) Pad Errors are determined at the line judge’s discretion. The line judge is the final authority on this issue, and cannot be overruled by the players or tournament staff.
18) Players are expected to be in attendance for the matches they are involved in. Players have 1 minute to be at the machine and ready for song selection once the names have been called.
19) Players will be notified prior to the matches they have, commonly referred to as “On Deck”.
20) Players who do not show up to the machine will automatically lose the round they are involved in.
21) Long Songs and Marathons are not allowed.
22) Any changes to the aforementioned rules will be documented and players will be notified immediately.
23) Attempts at cheating or other disruptions to the tournament will result in immediate disqualification of the player(s) involved.
24) Tournament organizers reserve the right to change rules as needed and seen fit in the better interest of the tournament.
25) Le Mans arcade reserves the right to remove anyone from the tournament and arcade premises at any time if the person is breaking the organizations rules.
26) It is the player’s responsibility to understand and abide by these rules.
