QUALIFYING ROUND: For the qualifying round, the tournament organizer will pick between 5 and 7 songs ranging in difficulty from a 7 footer to a 9 footer. Each player picks one song for their qualifier. Grading in the qualifier works as this. According to how many notes they hit they will get a higher score.
Pefect: 2 Points each
Greats: 1 Point each
Good: 0 Points each
Almost: -1 Point each
Boo:-2 points each
This way, if a person picks a hard song as their qualifier they are not gaurenteed a high seed because if they miss a lot they will have a low score. Once each player has played a qualifier, they are all given seeds.
Bracket Set up: At the top of the bracket place the 1st seed vs the last seed. At the bottom of the bracket place the 2nd seed vs the 2nd to last seed. And fill in the middle the same way.
Bracket Play:In bracket play 2 players face off. The higher seed picks the first song. The other person chooses the second song. Scoring can be done two different ways.
Option one: Give a number score the same way the qualifier was done.
Option two: Use the number score the machine provides at the results screen at the bottom.
If one player wins both songs he/she advances to the next round. If each player wins one, a third song is chosen by either the tournament director or the winner of a rock paper scissors match between the two players.
Finals: The finals may be done a couple of ways. the same thing as in bracket play. The other option is to have the top two play a non-stop course (a course usually consisting of 4 songs). A preselected course.
Prizes: 1st place 70-80% of the cash entry fees. Second place gets their money back or 10% of the entry fees. Maybe some game credits or other prizes. (Prizes have not yet been decided all of this is just ideas)
