-There will be no qualifying the day of the tournaments (Saturday, Sunday)
-Late entrants will be seeded last in order of entry/arrival
-The two qualifying songs will be announced 7 days before the tournament
-Seeding will be determined by your average rank of both songs.
-Ties in rank will be determined by combined percentage between the two songs.
Format:
-NCAA Double elimination style 32 man brackets
-When four remain, Round Robin will begin.
-For more than 32 entrants, single elimination to 32
-All songs will be played on Expert only.
-Songs that do not have Expert charts will not be allowed
-The higher seed chooses either what side of the pad he/she wants or who chooses the first song
-You are allowed to use any mods that you so choose as long as they do not affect the total step count or arrow placement
-Speeds mods will be in .25 increments from 1x to 12x for the tournament, thus removing the need for cmods
-Cmods will not be permitted to be used in the tournament (see above)
-You are not allowed to choose a song more than once until the final four round robin in which all song picks are reset.
-Winner of each match is best 2 out of 3 songs
-3rd song will be chosen by the Midwest's weighted random system (bell curve).
-The higher percentage wins the song, regardless of both players' pass or fail
-Pad arbitration will be handled in a case by case basis
-In the event of a song tie, the song will be declared a tie, thrown out, and the player that chose the song that tied will choose again.
During Play:
-You are not allowed to make verbal noises and/or sing with the intention of distracting your opponent
-You are not allowed to make physical noises or distractions with the intention of distracting your opponent
Vetoes for Randoms:
-Players will be allocated two vetoes for the double elimination part of the tournament
-Those vetoes will carry over from round to round until the Final Four Round Robin in which Match Rules will take place
-Vetoes will not be allowed in the Final Four Round Robin Match Rules
Final Four Round Robin Format:
-All song picks will be refreshed for each match in the round robin
--*NOTE* If time becomes an issue for the round robin (highly unlikely, this probably won't happen!):
----------A song limit of 13 will be imposed with the 13th song being a random song from the weighted random generator
----------Song picks will not be refreshed for each match of the round robin, only in the beginning
-Players will play according to the re-seeded match order determined by the qualifier.
-Players will alternate song picks until one player wins by a score of 2.
-Each song win earns you 1 point.
-In the event of a song tie, the song will declared as a tie and thrown out. The player who chose the song that tied will pick again.
-The player with the highest amount of wins in the match rules of the round robin is the winner of the tournament.
-Ties in the round robin scoring (i.e. two players with 2 wins/1 loss) will be resolved using a 4 tiered tiebreaker system. The tiers of the tiebreaker system are as follows:
--Tier one: Songs won during the round robin minus songs lost during the round robin, highest score wins.
--Tier two: The player coming from the higher bracket (winner/loser) from the double elimination portion wins.
--Tier three: Overall song wins throughout the tournament minus overall song loses (excluding single elimination rounds and including byes), highest total wins. Byes count as a 2-0 victory for the purpose of scoring in this tier.
