Date & Location: November 8th, 2008. Maplewood Mall - Aladdin's Castle 3001 White Bear Ave N Saint Paul, MN 55109.
Entry fee: $12 per person ($10 goes to prize pot and $2 goes to arcade); registration at the day of the tournament.
Prizes: 1st – 60% of entry fees +
the EXIT sign I stole from the Sheraton Hotel last August, 2nd – 30% of entry fees, 3rd – 10% of entry fees +
a box of pocky.
Time: Registration starts at 11am, tournament starts at 12pm. Times are approximate.
Qualifiers:
The following is a list of four songs (easy 10s) that are possible qualifiers for the tournament:
Temple of Boom
Tribal Style
Kagami
My Favorite Game
On the day of the tournament, only one song will be used from the list for the purposes of seeding. The chosen song will not be announced until the tournament starts. Players are ranked by the number of Fantastics. If a player fails the song, then they will be allowed to replay the song ONE MORE time. If the player fails a second time, then they will get a score of zero.
Rules:
Double elimination.
If somehow there are =< 8 players entering the tournament, then it will be round robin.
All songs are on difficult and Oni (10s and up cannot be used until semi-finals).
Scoring will be determined by total number of fantastics each song.
Best 2 out of 3 songs each round.
Players advance by moving up the bracket.
For a result, at least one player must pass the song.
Each seed picks one song (order will be determined by qualifier rank).
For the third song, higher seed picks song and lower seed picks side. For semi-finals, random will be used in place of this rule.
A song cannot be used more than once in a round (including different step charts).
Mods must be agreed by both players (EXCEPT for speed mods).
Pad misses: If you lose by 1 and it wasn’t your fault, then scoring for that song for both players are null and will replay the next song as random.
Players are allowed to use the machine for practice the day of the tourny before the tournament begins.

EDIT!@: Recently I thought it was just me being really rusty at DDR, but after testing out the pads on doubles and due to complaints I'm changing the tourny to ITG2 instead of DDR SN.
1. Because at the time when I made the rule sets, I didn't expect the arcade to steal a ded cab of ITG2
2. It's better this way
Here are the current changes to the tourny:
1. I've changed the price of registration.
2. I'm posting up the qualifiers for ITG2.
3. I added an extra prize to 1st place. Be grateful you're getting a keepsake of my adventures.
4. Everything else in terms of date, location, and rules should still apply as far as I know for the time being.
I've been really busy so until then, I won't make additional changes until I see something appropriate needed or suggested. And
5. I still don't have a decent name for the tourny so I used copy/paste since that's what I pretty much did for this tourny.
6. Due to my busy schedule, I'm not going to maintain the pads until the
day before the tourny. This is because if I constantly maintain them, they'll be worn out and it'll be pointless.
