FIRST OFF, this is a different type of tournament from the ones that you
are most likely used to. I am attempting to make several small changes to the usual Random Caprice ideals, the most major being that this one will be held OVERNIGHT, instead of during the day. I will recommend bringing plenty of energy-type drinks and a blanket, just to be safe.
Timeline:
7pm - Setup & Registration
9pm - Qualifier
10:30pm - Singles Tournament Starts
4/5am - Finals
6am - Waffle House Breakfast Trip
8am - Oni Tournament Starts
1pm - Finals
2pm - RELAX
Qualifier:
All entrants into the Singles Tournament will be playing a pre-chosen
song, to seed themselves appropriately into the bracket.
All Modifiers that do not change the number of arrows or position will be
allowed during the qualifier. Singles Tournament:
Every round will consist of a Random Caprice course. After a coin toss to
decide who chooses which pad, a Single modifier will be pulled from a hat
by an impartial judge (someone who isn't playing at the moment). Both
players must use the modifier while playing the course.
The following Modifiers will be in the hat: 1x
Flat
Boost
Hidden
Sudden
Shuffle
Reverse
In the Semi Finals and Final rounds, the following Modifiers will be
added, and 2 modifiers will be pulled from the hat for each round: .5x
Boomerang
Wave
Echo
S.Shuffle.
All mods will be allowed in this tournament, except for those that add or
remove steps or change the position of the arrows. The exceptions are
Echo and S/Shuffle, which are only permitted if pulled from hat.
During this tournament, you will be playing 2 of the 4 songs in the Random
Caprice Course. All songs that will be playable will be from DDr 1st Mix-
DDR SuperNova. I will not be including home version or Dancing Stage
songs in this event.
IN the Semi Finals and Finals, all 4 songs will be played.
Winner will be decided by whomever has a higher score using the score
calcuator used below:
Marvelous: +3
Perfect: +2
Great: +1
Good: 0
Boo: -2
Miss: -6
O.K.: +2
All scores will be ran through a calculator or a computer, unless the
winner is obvious. Waffle House Trip:
During this little event, which be held once the Singles Tournament has
ended, I will be telling everyone to pile into cars and drive over to the
waffle house located on the offramp of I-25 and HWY 119. We will all sit
down, annoy the waitresses, and order enough food to feed a small army.
After we are all full and content with our tummie's rage, we will all
leave a good tip for the people that had to deal with all of us, and head
back to the machine.
At this point, I will be reopening and adjusting all the arrows so they
are working as best as possible for the Oni Tournament. Oni Tournament
After another qualifier and seeding, all contestants will be playing an
oni Course. I will be making a set of about 40-50 courses, each
consisting of 4-5 songs. Going from the top, each round will commence
until all courses are completed and/or the contestant list has dwindles to
one.
No mods are allowed during this Tournament.
The player with the highest Percentage will be considered the winner at
the end of each course, and if one player fails, the other player
immediately wins unless they are significantly behind in score.
All courses will have one song with a Mod added in, usually the last song. I also will be NOT be including 10 footers in any courses until the
number of courses has reached over 20.
Now, I have no date for this planned, and this is where everyone else fits
in. I need you all to agree on a general date that would work best for
everyone. Considering it may be held at the shed again, You may want to
shoot for a warmer day, or I can provide several blankets. I am also sure
we could set a fire to toast marshmallows and be warm around if needed.
I am looking at prizes along the lines of a Wii, Cobalt Flux, or even a grab bag of bemani goodness, in order to provide these, however, I need a guaranteed entry amount of say, 25-30 for Singles, and about 10-20 for
Oni. |
