I an exited to announced that I will be organizing a Rock Band tournament in Newark, NJ, this following November. This will be hosted in XPlace Gaming center, and played on their 120" projection screen. This is the first tournament i have ever organized, so I'm hoping it will go smooth as silk.

Everyone is welcome to participate and show off their skills in this incredibly fun game.

Details of the tournament:

This tournament will be a one on one competition, played on a single elimination bracket.

A seeding qualifier will be made at the beginning of the event to determine seeds. The seeds will determine the players position in the bracket for the first round. As far as the qualifier song, it'll be a predetermined song, announced at the beginning of the event. depending on the amount of participants, there will be cuts made from the seeds to accommodate the tiers.

If there are more than 16 participants, only the top 16 will make it to the next round. if there are less than that, then only the top 8 will go to the first round.

For the next rounds, each paired opponent will play a one on one round, best 2 out of 3. Each opponent wil pick one of the two songs to be played,while the third song will be picked at random, regardless of difficulty.

Each subsequent round will have an increasing difficulty limit. All rounds will be on expert mode only, save for the qualifier, which might be played in hard difficulty.

All rounds will be played on the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band 2 projected onto a 120" screen. A wired guitar controller will be available to play in every round, but you are welcome to bring your own controller if you wish (wired recommended over wireless, to prevent lag issues. Also: 360 version ONLY).

Fee: $15 per participant for the prize plus a $5 fee for the use of the location.

Prizes:

for 1st. place: A Guitar Hero: World Tour Band Kit will be awarded for the console version of their choice.

For 2nd place: a copy of Guitar Hero: World Tour (Game Only) will be awarded for the console version of their choice.

I really would like to do a 60% 30% 10% distribution, but by law, this location CANNOT allow any money to be given as prize in any competition.

I'd love to come out for this. If you want, I have a wireless RB2 guitar, which can autocalibrate the system as long as you're running RB2. Plus, as well, if you don't already have one I can provide a system with full, up-to-date DLC, at least as of right now. (Money's a bit tight, so I might fall behind in the next month.)

Any rules on breakneck speed or anything else important to know beforehand?

the system in place is constantly up to date with the DLCs, plus it will have both RB 1 & 2 songlist. i still haven' decided a qualifier though

id like to ask of anyone thatis coming to this, to please post it here so that i have an idea as to how many people are actually participating. Thanks!
