WWDC was littered with slogans that basically put down Vista for being a copycat.

Interestingly, Apple is still holding back on revealing all of the new features in Leopard.

From what I've seen, both new operating systems suck at quite similar levels. There isn't enough innovation for me to actually go buy another OS. Kinda sucks for them because I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.

except when running applications with Rosetta (ie Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, non-universal programs)... my old Titanium Powerbook G4 ran photoshop better than my new 15" MacBookPro...at least this one has a built in iSight camera, which i never use... sigh...

hopefully i'll be selling these things at an Apple store near you...just had an interview last friday and I should be hearing from them by Wednesday (fingers crossed)

<soapbox> I'm getting so sick of Apple and how they market everything. It drives me crazy. Yeah, so the iPod looks cool, and it took Apple from being a small nerdy company to a fashion statement. And thats all it is. All Mac advertises is that it is cool and Microsoft is stupid. Like the stupid Mac & PC computers, where the PC is an old, nerdy guy, and the Mac is a cool college student. And the marketing for OSX Leopard, where they say it is 'Vista 2.0'.

Im sick of Apple stealing ideas from Microsoft and other companies and calling innovative. Their 'Mighty Mouse' is the perfect example. It's retarded. Microsoft has had scroll wheels forever. I know Microsoft doesn't exactly invent everything for thier OS's either, but at least they don't claim it as their groundbreaking new ideas.

One last thing before I stop ranting. The only reason Apple doesn't have the huge problem Microsoft has with Spyware and viruses is because Macs lock you into their products, and you have to upgrade with their products. Microsoft, on the other hand, has to make their OS backwards compatible 10 years cause of all the retards who try to get Vista to work on their old Pentium I. There is no time in the world to patch every hole that might occur when you have to design a product that works with ancient parts.

Apple has made Microsoft one of those companies that everyone loves to hate.

Sorry about that, Mac has good ideas too. They just have been driving me crazy as of late. And they probably still will until they stop making cheap shots at Microsoft.

I'm going to second this. I was a member of the middle-ground, will use any available system camp, up until this latest ad campaign. At this point, Apple has become so obnoxious that I'm actively avoiding their products. Say what you will of Gates being a dick, but I can't actively recall him going "So, Mac users, how does it feel to suck?" at any point in time.

Very, very cool. I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and I'm glad that I wasn't disappointed. The Mac Pro is insanely fast, and has some really nice hardware specs. I only wish they would show more of leopard though, but they're right, chances are MS will photocopy all the cool new features before they release Vista.

Heh, it's funny you said that, Phil Shiller came on stage and said how a Dell with the same specs as the Mac Pro is actually $800 more expensive. Macs are becoming way more affordable now.

By the way, I don't want to start a Mac vs. PC war here. I love Linux too, but the Macintosh is really a kick-ass platform.

I used to love my pc. I would have never switched to a mac. Until I inherited mine and my uncle gave me OSX Tiger. Now I only use my PC for a few games. And by few I mean 2.
