As for Saddam... well, I have no sympathy or pity for the man. That being said, I highly doubt that his death is going to improve the situation in Iraq at all.

That guy and his brother really did deserve what he got coming for him. Pretty funny too how they gave him the red card saying his life was over (which he gave to people he would hang). I don't think the video would be all that impressive anyways, from what I read it was him saying a few words and then him dying instantly.
Meh, whatever it takes to get rid of him I guess. Not that it really solves too much with the problems they are having with Iraq after the war. | |

Personally, I've always been opposed to the death penalty. Even in his case I think it was a bad idea, not only because of the method of execution but also because of the violence that's already begun to ensue after his death. I confident that for the one life taken with Saddam's hanging, there's going to be a lot more murders by those who supported him to avenge his death.

Saddam used those same weapons on villagers who had nothing more than sticks and stones to defend themselves with.
