Default Dog and cat owners: careful what you feed 'em

Dunno how many of y'all have dogs or cats to take care of on your own, but in case you do...

Rat poison found in pet food, official says - CNN.com

Because we just can't get enough food poisoning these days with humans, now the dogs and cats gotta suffer with rat poison.

I saw this news on the Inside Edition a few nights ago.

Sad thing about this is that there have already been deaths due to the animals intake of the "infected" pet food. One case shown that night was about the dog was dying due to the immense kidney failure. The owners can only watch helplessly as the end nears for their beloved animal friends.

There is some good news though.....as the manufacturers of these issued a total recall on all pet food products. However, for the animals already infected by it, the damage has already been done.

So indeed be wary of what you feed to your pet animals.

Yeah, I only feed my doggie the solid kind, and add warm water to it.

This suprised me, and being an animal type person, made me sad that so many pets had to die cause of this.

I think some lab testing on the "tainted" pet food showed a death rate of 1 in 6. . .

That's a lot of dead animals. . .

My question is how the rat poison got into the pet food in the first place. Luckily, the dog my friend's uncle has only eat the dry food, so hopefully, that won't be a problem. As for the animals that already became casualties of the poison, I feel so bad for them. I'm not a hardcore animal lover or anything, I just dislike the fact that a member of someone's family had to suffer because some moron tainted their food with poison. I guess that also mean I'm never eating dog or cat food again. x_x

I saw it on the news about a week ago. I'm glad we only feed our cat the dry kind of food.
