I say this needing help.

I just got my schedule for school, but I have a minor issue that I've had since Apirl. This is called "Colorguard"

I was wondering if you guys have any idea how I could possibly talk my mother out of making me stay, 'cause I really want to quit. It sucks, it's boring, and it's EXTREMELY fustrating... >.>;;

That or just take the fall! Fail miserably at any other tryout session. They can't help but give you the boot. That or get seriously injured somehow.

Best bet: Bypass your mother, go straight to the Administration/Counseling/whatever office is appropriate and request a class change. Reason, you don't believe you're in the best physical condition to be in Color Guard.

Replace it with another, more interesting, activity. Pitch that idea and if that doesn't work and you really really don't want to do it, do what I did with track. Just don't go to practice. Go chill at a mall or something for the time that you should be there.

Why won't they let you quit? It's not going to win you any awards or scholarships and it absolutely does not look good on a job resume unless you're going to be a band instructor, etc.

Seriously no one gave two shits about me being in marching band for 6 years when I applied for one of those real jobs.

If it's like my school, you are supposed to have a parents consent to change a class.

What kind of relationship do you have with your mom. The way I would go is simply say "I'm no longer going to do this." and it'd be ok. It's not a core class and really wont make a difference in the long run, so there's no point in doing it.

If worse comes to worse, try convincing your mom that she's being repressive and not letting you grow to your full potential by exploring other possible aspects of life. Then bring up a situation in which she wanted to do something, but was forced to do the thing she hated. Ohhh, served.
