Default Fraps 2.9.6

Hi I hope this is in the right section. I've been trying to record myself playing stepmania on my PC using fraps 2.9.6 and I've had some trouble with it.

My problem is that when I'm recording myself playing any song with it recording at 30fps it stops recording at 30seconds =/ anybody know why that is?

sounds like you're using a trial version or something.

I'd recommend getting the full version. I find it beats some of the others that you get with graphics card software and stuff.

Yup, trial version will limit how long of a video you can take. Get the full version and unlimit yourself.

Can anyone recommend some software other than FRAPS? I was thinking of GameCam, but would like some feedback on that, or other programs that can do a good job.

Recording + encoding on the fly will be a big bonus, especially on a quad core CPU.

hypercam seems to be another popular choice, but a lot of people go with fraps.

A good friend of mine recorded some gameplay from CS:S using the recorder in XFire, but I haven't used it so I can't really comment on how good it is.

I've had decent luck with SnagIt. Most of the 30FPS vids I take work fairly well in MPEG (only get about 30 frames lost out of 4000 or so taken, usually).

Using a 2.2GHz dual-core Intel with a RADEON X1550 and 2GB of RAM in WinXP Pro.

I'd figure it'd be easier for MAC users to get media producing programs though. Moreso that a Windows-based comp...I mean they're designed for it. >_>
