I got my W2s the other day, and I was all OH OH AWESOME I"M ELIGIBLE FOR A STIMULUS-PACKAGE BOOST-THE-FUCKING-ECONOMY CHECK, FUCK YEAH, SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS OF GOVERNMENT MONEY TO SPEND ON MY OWN WOO HELL YEAH. Then I went online in Psychology today and I looked up the details, and it said something to the extent of "people who are claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer are ineligible for the package" and I was like FUCK.

reading a little more about this tax rebate, it seems that what this actually is is just an advance on next year's return based on your returns this year (look here: Rebates: What you need to know - Feb. 8, 2008 )
does anyone else have any reputable sources for info on this rebate
