I'm going to Japan for 7 days

I'm going to Japan on monday for 7 days, im 30 minutes from Osaka, or I can take the train to Tokyo, any suggestions? Anyone out there want to show me around? etc. etc.

30 minutes from Osaka meaning where? and then if you take the train 30 minutes to Osaka at what station will you arrive? For example, I was living in Wakayama, and so the train would take me to Nanba Station in Osaka, and I'd have to go from there.

If I was going for seven days... I'd probably ride the subways all day every day and drink heavily out of vending machines at night.

...oh wait I would never have seven whole days free because of all the freaking crane games. Damn crane games. And stuff.

Tokyo's a helluva commute from Osaka, I say go to Kyoto and check out A-cho on I think Sanjo-dori =P

I'm not sure exactly, I know i'll be spending at least 1 day, maybe two in Osaka. Uhhhh whats A-cho? and Sanjo Dori ? i play ddr and street fighter lol don't know too much.

(Space) A-cho is an arcade located right off of Sanjo-dori street.

If you want to play some fighting games, there a Sega Joyopolis right outside Osaka JR station too. No music games though.

thats okay, Im more interested in the fighters anyways, I'm staying in upper Kobe. A cho is in kyoto? ill have to check it out and thanks for the info on sega joyopolis

If you like fighting games and you're in Kyoto, definitely check out A-cho on Sanjo-dori street...you'll find the streets are simply named Nijo, Sanjo, Shijo, Gojo, Rokujo, etc, and all run east-west and parallel to each other; if you're taking Sanjo-Keihan line or JR (which drops you off at IIRC at Shichijo, and it'll be quite a long walk to Sanjo), Sanjo-dori street isn't hard to find. I have a map of where it's at, but it's in Japanese and plus it's pretty darn easy to miss so you'll really have to look out for it.

When I went in March/April, they had SSF2T, SF3:3S, SF4, T6BR (about 6 of them), VF5R, KOF (96, 97, 98, 98UM, 2000, 2002, 2002 UM, XI, and XII) Fatal Fury RBS and RB2, and a bunch of other fighting games I can't think of.

If you care about Bemani, it had two IIDX Empress machines, a sessioned GFdm V5, Pop 'n 16, Pop 'n 17, DDR X (upgraded but worked great), Taiko something (Taiko was everywhere). Of course e-amuse cards were readily available.

Joyopolis across from Osaka JR didn't have a TON of fighting games (a lot of Tekken 6 BR players though), but enough anyhow. The Gundam pod games I recommend checking out (even though it's like $5 per game and you need a card which is like another $5...play once to experience it, it's pretty cool). I didn't spend enough time in Osaka so I can't recommend a lot of other places =/

I couldn't find any good Okonomiyaki shops that looked good so I stuck with Takoyaki =P

Pretty much what I spent all my time in Osaka doing: sight-seeing (Sakura trees were spectacular) and looking for good eats.

Yeah, it's called Yukari and it's apparently quite famous. They've got locations all over Osaka and have been expanding slowly into other regions too.

You know, I found a bunch of really decent arcades with Bemani and fighting games just walking around Kobe. I don't know where I was because I was just blindly walking around until I found a train station back to Osaka/Wakayama, but I sure did find a lot
