IS there a website that focuses on holding information, links or sells items related to AV entertainment that has been forgotten, ill-fated or great in general but never took off?
Some examples (at least in my opinion) of things that were great but never really took off for various reasons are..
Nights into dreams (1996 sega saturn): Perhaps the most sentimental game I have ever played and the gameplay is so original and so unique that no video game I have seen later on even compares to it. The producer of the game stated that there is a possibility of a sequel but it would have to be absolutely perfect otherwise he won't even consider it.
Reason why it didn't really take off. It was released around the same time as Nintendo 64 and Playstation 2. Those two consoles just appealed more to the general public.
Cybersix (1999 TMS NOA) This was definitely not a popular TV show and I'd be suprised if anyone on BMS knows about this show. Its about a superhero that is a woman that wears a cape, and a black hat. She has a sidekick; a black panther named data 7. Together they battle monsters released by her father on the city of Meridiana. There is no city called meridiana but the general settings does resemble Madrid spain. In addition to battling out the monsters, she deals with her emotions towards another man named Lucas.

Reason for ill fate: Was aired in the US in 2000 but only aired 10 episodes before going offline. The title does sound misleading to many people. In the cartoon series cybersix's alter ego is a male high school teacher who is constantly being hit on by a female student. That probably brings a conflict in interest in terms of gender roles.
What other forms/series of AV entertainment you like that is not well known to the public?
I think a website that dedicates to searching and selling these "lost and forgotten" forms of entertainment would be promising
