Yeah, it seems as though they decided to ban cgi::irc clients, which means those of you at colleges that block IRC will also not have access. Time to start complaining since I can't install mirc at work.

Good because when a "certain someone" gets banned from a channel on PopnIRC, he always connects again through a CGI Java IRC client. They basically prevented the backdoor.

Yeah, well here's the thing. The same effect could have been achieved by setting a +b in channel for the offending domain, and making a +e (exception) on certain nicks so people could actually get in still on cgi::irc.

And if those nicks aren't registered, then what? We already had a fiasco about someone taking a regular's nick and not giving it up until he woke up.

The chan should already be +R or whatever it is to required only regged users, that's simply a security precaution.
