Actually , this just goes to show this country cares......about rich white people. If shes gonna be on home arrest what's the point, she can just tell her butlers and maids to do crap for her. She's breaking the rules of home arrest!

That's not breaking the rules, it's something she might get away with when she's forced to be at home. Do you ever think before you talk?

No it's not breaking the rules, but really though: What is the point of house arrest when you're confined to a million dollar home?

Jeeze, and I thought my country was bad. How can she get away with that? Apart from the fact that I absolutly hate her, she deserves to rot in prison like the others do.

I think the OP is right - it's the screwed up justice system. Today it's Paris Hilton. Tomorrow it will be the guy with three drunk driving convictions, who later goes on to run over a small 6 y.o. crossing the street to go to school.

Anyway, I think OJ and R. Kelly have proven that you don't have to be white. You just have to be rich.

Alarmist propaganda, along with stupidity should cause pain.

Wait, I don't get it. My belief that people get off way too easy for dangerous crimes is both alarmist and stupid, and therefore I will be in pain? Or is it that the fact that people get off way too easy for these crimes is stupid, and that is what causes more pain in the world?

You should be writhing in agony right now.

What the fuck kind of punishment is "house arrest"? She isn't going to learn jack-shit from her mistakes. That's like trying to teach a a rude obnoxious douche manners by giving them $20 for destroying a social gathering instead of $50 if they learned not to ruin a get-together with their rotten attitude.

Let's see. I'm making two claims in my statement here:

1) Dangerous criminals are let off too easily all the time.
2) People who commit one crime are very likely to commit another, possibly worse crime.

Those two claims just aren't up for debate. They're the whole reason people come up with three strikes laws or Megan's laws. You may be able to debate how effective those measures are at solving the problem. You may be able to debate the benefits vs. the costs of building more prisons, incarcerating more people, or coming up with alternative rehabilitation methods. But to stick your head in the sand and say "La la la, this isn't a problem" is just retarded.

Actually you do have a good point at the end. I think most of us *are* writhing in pain at the thought of having to see more of Paris Hilton in the future. Her jail sentence was a welcome respite, and it has been cruelly taken away from us for the flimsiest of reasons.
