That's like saying New York City happened on 9/11/01.

Pearl Harbor happened AGES AGO. IT'S OVER. I have BETTER things to worry about than the past.
I don't have a fucking 'if it's not effect (not affect you bitch) ing me, it's not a problem' mentality, it's just that I know I'm too morbidly depressed and too fucked up to pay attention to world issues, or I would have killed myself by now. worrying is so fucking reactive it drives me insane when people just fucking jsit around and shit their pants over everything, and then bitch about how depressing it all is. But they NEVER do ANYTHING about it do they? No, they don't.
So you're wrong, fuck you, leave. Yea, I'm flaming, but honestly keep to your own damn business. | |

It's past the anniversiry now. What's the point in talking?

Its a tragedy of epic proportions and those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor and those who fought in World War II in general have my deepest respect. One thing I don't understand are some people (mind you a very small percentage) animosity toward Japan over 65 years later. I can understand hating them back when this attack and the conflict that followed it happened, but since then, there have been regime changes, shifts in power and what have you and since then, Japan has become one of our biggest supporters both from an economic standpoint and in "the war on terror". I just don't see why, as hard as it may be to do, to let bygones be bygones.
Hope this isn't veering off topic too much.

Right?
| What's your point? You know what major event will probably be remembered in 500 years? The Nazi's and Adolph Hitler committing the holocaust. Should we then focus all our attention of remembrance of the past by studying the Nazi regime?
Your statement basically says: "With enough time passing, nothing will be remembered; hence history has no place or purpose in our lives. Live in the moment without any concern for future actions and complete disregard for past actions, because eventually nothing will mater anyway."
I could probably draw some conclusion with Nietzsche and the "bungled and botched" idea, but whatever. Quote: |

| More time needs to pass. People are still alive today who suffered as P.O.W.s under the Japanese. Their resentment has translated down through families, however drastically reduced. Would you ask the same of a holocaust survivor to go back to Germany and be buddy-buddy with his/her former captors?
