Most ex-McCain supporters I heard miss the McCain of 2000.

While I agree that Obama has most of the ideas right, I really don't have much faith in him to know how to go about doing the changes he promised. On the other hand, McCain is a joke, and picking up that vile harpy Sarah Palin isn't gonna do him any favours.
I am rooting for Ron Paul & Ralph Nader.

The idea that the two candidates cover all possible viewpoints on any issue is a false dichotomy, but the issue at hand is which person who practically might be elected would be best suited for presidency.
Technically, there are millions of people whose name we could write in on the ballot, but they're not really going to be relevant to this presidential election.
Also, I think not following the status quo involves actually changing something, not just being nonconformist or whatever.

all kinds of things could hypothetically happen if you get enough people in on it but the fact is that it isn't going to

I know Obama won't be able to set out a perfect plan for everything he's campaigning, but I have faith that he will reach out to the right advisers when the time comes.
The political leanings of the American public follow a Bell curve; there are very few to the extreme right and the extreme left. The bulk of the American public is going to be very near the middle, and the two major parties are already fighting for that group. Moving further away from the middle sees a huge drop-off in population; that's why you perceive a "false dichotomy" even though there isn't one. In order for a third party to be thought of as a third party, they have to be distant enough from the other two established parties to be perceived as independent. Studies show that there simply isn't enough of a voter base in those areas to really have an impact.
The whole Ron Paul thing was a bunch of sheep following the "OMG I'M NOT A SHEEP" cries of the internet, declaring non-conformity by being a conformist and following internet trends. Quite sad really~!

Marketplace Rating: 1 | It's social pandering and it's stupid. McCain is going for the whole "War Vet / Loves America" angle along with the "Hockey Mom" angle that Palin has. It's disgusting and I don't understand how people fall for that shit. I understand that serving your country is good, but since when did graduating near the bottom of your class mean that you'd be good for a political position? We should be proud of our veterans, but we shouldn't automatically assume that they are instantly versed in what America is and what America needs.
Here's the problem with American politics; most people just don't give a shit! They rely on bias media to adopt opinions as their own. Only when the status quo is disrupted will people care, and most of the time they either adopt the "my vote won't matter" or "somebody else will take care of it" stance.

The most controversial issue of the debate today lies in the so-called economic bailout plan.
It would be interesting to see how the two leaders would respond to the so-called economic package that Dubya has lined up.
Boon or Bane? That's the question(s) that should be answered.....

And FYI, that's a fucking hard school to get into. I'd rather graduate at the bottom of my class there than at the top of a large majority of State colleges.
And yeah I know where Obama graduated from, what rank, blah. Education shouldn't mean shit. George was academically very well off, and look how many people hate him.
