Marketplace Rating: 14 | Something other than iTunes? Is there anything ELSE besides iTunes that I can add my music to my iPod? I'm kinda sick of it now and when it added my WHOLE music collection without my permission or what folder to add to it; without anyway to delete the whole library, it kinda pisses you off from time to time. So my question...anything else?

Then when you add music to you library and edit it, it won't autoupdate your ipod unless you do it yourself. It's kinda more annoying, cause it'd like SOME auto features. Then again, I like editing and managing some features myself. I might search around for a bit and see if there is something better than iTunes, cause the program does suck.
Also, don't know if it's going to make a difference, but are you running on a PC or Mac?

Marketplace Rating: 14 | I'm always on a PC, when I downloaded the new iTunes 7 it added alllll my music for me, over 7,000 songs without anything I can do. I heard there was SOME program that let's you update to your iPod but I can't find it. If there's a way to delete your whole song library from iTunes that could work too

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Wow, that sucks. I hate it when you update and it does stuff like that.
Two programs I found were:
ml_iPod
EphPod
You can just do a google search and find them easily. Both run off a PC (which sucks for me being on a mac). ml_iPod uses Winamp, which I am a huge fan of. I always liked that program cause it's easy and uses ID3 tags nicely. I think the EphPod will use Winamp as well as 3rd party programs, at least that's from what I got. Hope this helps.
Now to do more searching to see if there's something for mac -__-

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I thought MusicMatch could also do it. Maybe they stopped? I know when I bought my iPod they wanted the Windows users to use Musicmatch, and I had a hard time even installing iTunes and getting it to work with the iPod (this was a 3g one)

Marketplace Rating: 3 | You can delete the library. Hell, you can tell iTunes to use a different folder as its library, it doesn't force you to use the default location. I had a fun time trying to manage my iPod and a friend's iPod on my same computer before and it all worked out in the end. When using iTunes it's important to tell it to stop and not do anything without asking you first. Always look through the iPod preferences and shit carefully, I dunno.
What have you tried doing to delete the library from iTunes?
edit: shouldn't this be in the tech subforum, anyway?

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Itunes is recommended for ipods since its the program that has the least amount of issues with transferring songs, but the best you can get otherwise is what anime super j posted. I used for a while a plugin for winamp that worked wonders, but I'm not sure its compatible NOW with the new firmware update that ipods just got.
I personally use winamp over itunes because itunes is nuts.
But yeah, try what nomi said, and changing default libraries and what not.

I'll try the programs what were listed, hopefully something works, in the pref. it doesn't say like iTunes 6 which folder to read the songs from, which is stupid.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I use ml_winamp for my ipod needs and it works great. Only downside is that it can't do album art, but holy shit it does playlists a lot better than iTunes does.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I could honestly care less about cover art. It really didn't add that much for me. Another reason why switching over to ml_winamp sounds better than iTunes right now. I might try it out, if I can get myself to stop being lazy and get everything setup on the other computer. Glad to hear that ml actually works for people well, thanks kimcicle ^__^

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I just thought of another downside.
You might have to format your iPod to get it to work with ml_ipod, thus losing everything that you currently have on the pod. so if you already got a good thing going with winamp, it might not be worth the effort to switch over.
