What embarrasses you about where you live?

I was walking into Grapevine Mills Mall (a decent tourist attraction, for some unknown reason), here in Grapevine, Texas, and one of those tour buses with the open tops was driving by. The announcer was telling the group about all of the stuff inside the mall, and was encouraging them to go buy crap, etc.

He spots me and my friend walking, points at us, and says "CAN I GET A YEE-HAW OUT OF Y'ALL TEXANS?"

I stopped in my tracks, and screamed back up at him "WE'RE NOT ALL HICKS, JACKASS," and then continued to walk back up to the mall.

Other people standing around started applauding. That felt so damn good.

What embarrasses you about your home state? Any stereotypes, or something like that?

Also Grapevine Mills is a terrible mall aside from Gameworks. But the reason it's such a tourist destination is that when people are flying into DFW they're all "Oh that looks huge Texas is so cool and big" blah blah so they eventually meander on over.

Oh and I am embarrassed that stupid fucks voted down the real Interstate 95, because now NJ is known for stupid roads. Every time I'm at 7-11 or somewhere near the highway, out of towners ask how the hell they get back to 95. Ugh.

I can't stand all the indian and asian people around here that have literally no clue how to drive. It really makes their ethnicity as a whole look really really bad.

Especially when you look at their native country and most of us couldn't even drive our way around the corner there.

What the fuck happened when they got over here that just turned their driving ability into a complete sack of shit?

Just today I've seen 5 nissan quests make turns opposite what their signals were saying. 3 prius' cut of semis on the highway going 30. No one knows how to properly yield at a yield sign and each and every one of them can't maintain a normal speed at all anywhere.

And people wonder why I throw pennies out my window at them.

If you think that is bad, then you should come visit the Philippines where traffic and bad drivers form a combination that would bring hell to any motorist here. I take a cue from majority of the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers and a few snobby private motorists here. In this country, lanes do not exist and many drivers swerve like crazy.

Worse is that many people do not really take a driving exam.....as many would resort to just bribing the Transport officials in order to grant you a license (i.e. hiring fixers).

It's sad really and I really wonder if this will ever change in the near future.

And people wonder why I throw pennies out my window at them.
