$50 price drop inbound for the 360

According to this image (found on cheapassgamer) there's going to be a reduction in price for the premium 360, probably a good move with how well-received the PS3 price cut was. It's allegedly going to occur in the third week of August so if you had any interest in getting a system this month, wait a couple weeks longer to save a good chunk.

Reenee says that this will apply to the Core SKU as well, at least at Best Buy!

I swear, anytime Microsoft does anything to the 360 there is a flood of OMG 65NM!?!?!?!

Didn't happen with the Elite, and I'm sure there's enough standing stock of 360s abound that even if they started to push out the 65nm version that it would take a while for it to trickle down.

Cooler-running processor revision that'll hopefully lower the incidence of three-red-light syndrome. It's been rumored for ages but hasn't been implemented at all yet.

dam, and here i thought they were going to go the $100 price drop route to counteract the 60GB PS3 models clearance.

Consider yourself lucky. If it wasn't common they wouldn't have increased the warranty on all 360s to 3 years which retroactively covers all 360s sold since release.
