I'm just knew to this MAME thing myself (just downloaded 0.131 yesterday). I was peering through some sites and there were 95 gigs worth of games. One of them was a chd of Maximum Tune 2 haha. Would be awesome IMHO except that I wish there was a way we can interface the Card Reader (of an actual arcade cabinet) with a MAME version of the game. I could probably create an unshaded Evo 8 from there if possible haha. .
P.S.
I'm relatively new to this ROM stuff but if I may ask: Does BM forums allow discussion of MAMEs and CHDs for arcade versions of old BEMANI games? If so, which forum section(s) can such be discussed?
If you see a MAME ROM for a game made after 2000, you might as well forget about playing it properly any time in the next five years.
Oh I see I see.
Anyways, I was trying to get my DDR 4th Mix A34 (AAA) rom to get working but I guess it still doesn't work (I've heard rumors and discussion that they still haven't gotten MAME roms using System 573 Digital to work properly). What's worse though is that my NAOMI roms (from Sega) don't work as well. Guess I can't play initial d games atm
P.S.
Btw, if I may ask, does BM impose rules and regulations in regards to discussion of ROMs or anything related to it? Are there certain things that are taboo or forbidden (in BM)????
FreePlay is a meeting ground where you can chat with and challenge other players from around the world to play in a wide selection of arcade games with minimal, often undetectable lag.
It supports 100 or so MAME ROMs (most of them fighting games) and enables online play between two players. I'm only bringing this up because it also supports Twinkle Star Sprites and Metal Slug. I know even less about that game than I thought. Does anyone else use this?
By the way, unless you have a wired connection, the lag is not so undetectable, but it doesn't get in the way if the ping is low enough.

Oh and something to add in I guess.
There hasn't been much progress made on emulating stuff using System 573 Digital. In fact, I read a blog from this dude named 'smf' (supposedly the lead guy who is putting all these BEMANI games and a few other old stuff into MAME) and he says that due to the nature of it asking for the original CD itself (and sometimes even requests info copied from the install disc itself). It really is a complicated process.
Anyways, all his journals can be found on his site: smf’s blog
With that said, I guess I too should keep track of all the games that were released during the entire System 573 era.........
