It's a tie between Ocarina of Time and A Link To The Past. Both were simply amazing games.

Of course, the original was amazing, especially for it's time. But the other two hold a big place right in my heart, next to the hookers.

i remember when links awakening first came out... on that old old gameboy v1.0.......... i played that for months and never got bored.. then.. my game mysteriously disappeared .. then it turned up at my cousins house... then disappeared forever.. never to be seen again.. so i bought the DX version for gbc around two years ago.. and boy was that a blast from the past.. the secret color dungeon.. but.. you cant cheat like you used to be able to.. like the screen glitch.. if you are about to cross over to the next screen.. and as you pass through to it.. you press select or something like that.. you wind up in the same spot you were just in.. but on the next screen.. and you were able to steal stuff...

Links Awakening > Any other zelda made.

I was MAD crazy when links awakening first came out. Heck, I couldn't stop playing the original version because you could do so many cool things with the screen glitch.

Link to the Past.

I've never played the 3D ones because of how they handle jumping - why is it that you can jump some places and not others? This is one reason why I won't bother with the upcoming Twilight Princess, either.

I never have or ever will consider the handheld ones.

I agree with you here. I loved both games equally. I loved playing A Link To The Past back in the snes days. I think I played it through about 5 times then came the Nintendo 64 and Ocarina of Time. I thought they did an awesome job with this game. It was very fun and when you got to travel to the future it just got way better. I am glad I got a version on my pc now cause I don't have a 64 anymore

Link's Awakening actually was really good. I didn't really play much of Ages/Seasons but wasn't horribly impressed.

A Link to the Past, with the original Zelda a close second. i got the game off ebay because I heard it was really awesome, and it didn't disappoint me. Of course, my niece managed to erase my game just as I was getting to the very end, but that's beside the point...

Nice to see others appreciating Link's Awakening. That's my favorite, no question. (and just for the record, I played the NES games first) Not too easy, not too hard. Never boring. Dungeons are cool. Just a really good game overall.

I didn't care much for Oracle of Ages. Everyone was all "ZOMG THE ORACLES ARE BETTAR THAN ZELDA DX!!1!!", but they seemed pretty uninspired to me. Plus the new music sucked. I got up to the fourth dungeon in ages, then got bored. It wasn't bad perse, but I didn't feel compelled to figure out where I had to go.

Call me crazy, but I'm not terrible fond of Link to the Past either. It's good, no question, but I dunno, I just don't care about it. I've started a new file a couple of times, but I always wind up getting bored before even beating the first of the second seris of dungeons.

Majora's Mask is probably my second favorite. I don't remember Ocarina that well, but I seem to recall it being up there. It's probably my second favorite.

The original isn't much fun anymore. I enjoyed it back in the day, but I was like 4, and I sucked. I can't seem to recall even beating the second dungeon, though I know I did the first a few times.

2 is impossible. Then and now. Impossible.

Link to the Past, for sure. That game came out when I was in grade school and it seemed like it would never end. When it did finally conclude, I felt happy for finishing the thing and sad that it finally came to an end. A true classic.

Second place belongs to Link's Awakening. All those Mario references were great.

The original Legend of Zelda for the NES and Ocarina of Time.

The rest were meh, imo.
