Club Nintendo almost up, some stuff announced

Club Nintendo has a FAQ posted that answers some questions & some stuff has been announced by some sites as what we can get for registering games (well, for a few minutes before it went to "coming soon"). 1st off, the point system. Currency is "coins" & here's what you get:

Wii games: 50 coins
DS games: 30 coins
Wii Shop games & channels: 10 coins

There's also other ways to get coins which is explained in the FAQ under Product Registration. Oh, & earning 300 coins gets you Gold status while 600 gets you Platinum, both of which get special rewards. You have 1 year to earn them (July 1st until June 30th). Don't worry, you have 2 years to spend your coins. (i.e Coins earned in March 2009 would not expire until June 30, 2011).

My biggest wonder was if previously registered games would count. List of games that WILL count if you've already registered is found on the FAQ page under Product Registration. BTW, systems do NOT count.

Anyways, what've been announced:

Game & Watch Collection (800 Coins) (wonder if you can get 30 coins since it's a DS game)
White Nintendo DS Game Card Case (600 Coins) (WHAT?!)
Hanafuna cards (I think like the ones that they had back in the late 1800s)
Mario Party & Animal Crossing playing cards (I remember getting Mario Party 2 cards a long time ago when Nintendo Power let you order stuff in the back)
Club Nintendo hat game rack
Wiimote holders

Hopefully, we'll get more info soon. I really hope Exclamation Warriors makes it here. & instead of a SNES controller (Classic Controller is close enough), I want a N64 style Classic Controller. Seriously, I wanna play Sin & Punishment w/ the original N64 controller.

I'd really love for the password retrieval form to work so I could log in to the fucking site. The prizes look neat though I guess!

Yeah, logging in & signing up has been taken down for the moment, most likely due to the fact that the My Nintendo accounts are being carried over to Club Nintendo.

I wonder if the games are going to cost the most seeing as they're 800 coins. Thankfully, I have 5 Wii games (that's 250) & 4 DS games (120) registered, so I should have 370 coins, which should mean that I'm already at Gold Status. I'm sad that NONE of the Wii Shop games that I have aren't on the list....

Oh, okay. I was just kind of concerned because I've got all my systems registered and a whole stack of games and I was worried they were going to vanish! D:

Don't worry. If you had a My Nintendo account, everything should carry over.

I'm glad they're bring Club Nintendo over. Finally, you'll actually get something for registering your game. All I remember getting is a pink stylus for Kirby: Canvas Curse & that feather pen stylus for Phantom Hourglass.

Odd. Nintendo didn't list the games under Tetris DS (Advance Wars to Yoshi's Island DS). Otherwise, it's the same list on the FAQ page that I have

Anyways, the site is now up & some rewards are up. I got this message when logging in:

Welcome to Club Nintendo. Transferring your My Nintendo account to Club Nintendo is easy, but we may need some additional information to complete the process. Please click "Join Club Nintendo Now" to continue. NOTE: Make sure to provide the email address associated to your My Nintendo account to successfully transfer your account.

Just enter your e-mail & they'll know you're a member during registration & it'll transfer your old account. HOWEVER, I tried signing in after re-signing up & it gives me the same message as above. Perhaps they haven't let people log in yet?

PS: It's officially up now, so title can be changed.

Signed Up.

Didn't use My Nintendo much. I don't even remember the email I used for it. Probably one of my old AOL Accounts from YEARS ago. So I just started a new account.

210 Points currently. Would be more if i didn't always throw away the registration codes since I never used My Nintendo. It would probably be 410 if I had all my old Registration Codes.

Couldn't someone just go into a Gamestop and copy down the serial numbers for the allowed 1st party titles, and just register the serials to get free points?

You get codes on paper with the game (usually behind the instruction booklet) that are unique. Those are the codes that you enter.

I sent Nintendo an e-mail explaining my problem. Hopefully, I'll get a response from them soon.
