CONFIRMED: Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories US Release

According to KH Insider and two of my close friends who are managers at two of the local GameStops, a Square Enix employee let slip this week at the GameStop Expo & Conference that Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories will be getting a surprise localized US release THIS FALL with a retail price point of $29.99.

The purported release stands in line with rumors from around five or six months ago where people had mentioned Square Enix was casting English voice actors for the game's remaining Organization XIII members. On top of that, apparently some extra information was mentioned the game having new cutscenes and new boss battles not seen in the Japanese release of Re:CoM that came with Final Mix+.

However, all this information is currently considered "rumored" as no OFFICIAL word from Square has yet been mentioned.

Hopefully though, this information is true and the game will see a localized release. If only for the simple fact that Square Enix might finally start releasing the "International" remakes of their newer games Stateside.

Why can't they just release the Final Mixes over here? We're missing out on some cool stuff...

Anyways, I might buy/rent this since I beated the GBA version as both Sora & Riku. Aside from the cutscenes & (I think) boss battles, what else got changed/added?

There were extras in the Japanese version as well, but they're apparently adding more to the US release to allow for hopefully high sales. Other than that, we don't know what else is changed/added as this is merely speculation at this point, since Square Enix hasn't "officially" announced anything in a press release.

Other than those few things, it's pretty much just Chain of Memories with PS2 graphics and voice acting.

And the best Order members are in CoM.

the forum administration there hates kingdom hearts games and essentially outsourced all the main site content to a group of whoevers

but yeah mildly interested because com was probably the last kingdom hearts game i thoroughly enjoyed
