Custom 360 skins

Wondering if anyone has made one before, how it turned out, what resolution they used, what website, etc.
I've been having a look at Unique Skins but I would like a second opinion.

I'm not a big fan of skins for consoles they're a terrible pain to remove if you want to change it, and they leave all that nasty goo on it as well (easy to remove but still a pain). Custom airbrush jobs and spray painting looks so much nicer, just a little sanding if you want to get rid of the paint, usually if its nice you won't need to.

There's not a warranty on this earth that'll be honored after a custom paintjob though. :\

As long as the warranty sticker is in place it should still be valid IIRC tape off all the vents so the paint doesn't get inside and paint should work (did that with my original xbox). If a paint job would void a warranty wouldn't it be the same for a skin?

a skin's just a sticker or whatever.
a paintjob paints on the actual casing of the system.
still, someone with a drawing or something done with a whiteboard marker on his 360 got it fixed.

it was just gone when he got it back.

Since a skin is removable, absolutely not. Even if you cover up the vents they're going to say that any failure is your fault. If you send a broken green 360 unit into the repair center I guarantee you you'll get your broken green 360 back with a note telling you to eat a dick for modifying the console. Nintendo and Sony would do exactly the same thing.

I stand corrected disregard what I said earlier then. As far as skins go I've read some pretty nice things abut DecalGirl Skins just not so much about their shipping but mostly fairly good reviews I may end up buying one for my fiance's 360 we use in the living room instead of the stick on one she has now.

And as for the guy who had the drawing on it with a whiteboard marker reminds me of the guy who had his console signed by a ton of people from bungie IIRC and it RROD'd ended up getting it back without the signatures, sucks hard.

uhh, I think that was the guy I meant...
dunno, didn't really get the full story about him, just remember seeing he had a picture of master chief on it in one of his photos...

OH! Awesome! decalgirl's custom skin feature consists of a .psd template to use with photoshop!
I was hoping I'd find one with that!
