Damaged my Wii....

So, I was playing HP, and I put my mario mix pad on there so my boyfriend could play, and uh....that pad has a really short cord and it pulled my wii off the shelf and it snapped off the top piece that goes to the controller port. I hear that Nintindo wont fix it, and I cant just buy that piece, so anyone have any Ideas?

Are you referring to the controller port cover? If so, have you actually tried calling Nintendo to see if they might repair it? They've been pretty good about that sort of thing for the past few years, so it's worth a shot and you might be pleasantly surprised. They might ask for a small repair fee, they might not. In most cases I read about they do it for nothing.

If you don't mean the cover, could you post a picture to show what you do mean?

The same thing has actually happened to my friend's Wii countless times (thanks mainly to drunk and stupid people), his cover popped off and he was able to just pop it back on, but if the prongs broke off then yeah you should probably try to get a hold of Nintendo.

it's a two dollar piece. Nintendo would most likely pop one on for you and if not you can e-bay the part.

They'd probably help you out with a replacement for it. I had to call them recently over my Wii not displaying the color red through component cables (it used to work fine). They insisted that it wasn't something that could happen to the system but I tried 2 different wiis on 2 different TVs with 2 different sets of cables and mine always looked fucked up with the other one being fine. After explaining that they gave me all the info to ship it in and now I'm just waiting on the repair. They definitely have the best customer service out of the big 3.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo does sell those. They were in the parts shop last time I bothered to look.

Agreed. My Wii Sports was dropped on the ground [I didn't see my friend who had it in hand and bumped into him causing him to drop it] and got scratched up, so it would no longer play. I explained it to Nintendo and asked if I could purchase another copy. Two days later I had another copy of the game in my mailbox, sent using USPS Express mail, and it did not cost me a penny.
