Clips: Fallout 3 Trailer - Kotaku

Fall 2008.

The screen wills spin and battle music will start to play. You and drunk friends will be forced to stand in a line rocking back and forth holding over sized swords. A group of retarded looking monsters will appear and you will take turns hitting each other. When it is all over you will get 648 Gil and a fire ring. Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.

Back from the ashes once again. Last time we heard about this game was a couple years ago at E3, no?

Anyway, with Bethesda at the helm on this game, I have very high hopes.

I didn't even know about this and I had recently started playing Fallout again (never finished it, got stuck because I dumped an item I shouldn't have and couldn't find it when I went back to the spot...)
I'm hoping it's not first-person or whatever like Elder Scrolls 3 & 4...

Oh Jesus, that gave me chills. The intro to Fallout 1 is powerful shit and I'm glad to see that they went back to the more general wasteland presentation after the narrative shift that was 2. Atmospherically, at least, they're right where they need to be. Now please, please, please just get the rest at least decent.

Up until now, I was skeptical that Bethesda could recreate that feel the games had, but after seeing that, I'm convinced to root for Bethesda in the next Fall. I can't wait to see more, I'm impressed with how they've handled the post-apocalyptic setting.
