Fallout: New Vegas coming to consoles next year

Fallout: New Vegas is a new Fallout game, independent of Fallout 3, being developed for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to be released in 2010. It's being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, creators of Neverwinter Nights 2.

I'm very excited about this considering PS3 got shafted on the DLC Bethesda released for PC and Xbox 360.

On the one hand, Obsidian's writing is bar none better than any in the industry. On the other, they make the buggiest fucking games I've ever played. It's a testament to how good they are from perspectives of both gameplay and story in spite of those problems that I love their work. So long as there's not a repeat of KotOR II it'll be fine.

That's true, but Fallout 3 came out six months ago and we've already got this announcement.

Oh well. Not like I'm bored with Oblivion yet.

Fuck Bethesda's policies toward the PS3. I remember one of their number mentioning how much they loved the PS3 platform in terms of power back at E3 before Fallout 3 came out, and then... we don't get the DLC. I don't own an Xbox 360. My brother does. I don't get to use it often. I do own a PS3. I get to use that. Guess what I buy games on. I shouldn't have to deal with this bullshit because I own a different console (read: not even arguing better here.) Just as I feel I shouldn't need to buy a Japanese Xbox 360 to play Otomedius G (As opposed to a domestic one, one much easier to obtain and maintain in the VERY LIKELY event of a hardware failure), I don't feel I should have to own a Xbox 360 in general to play six to eight hours of Downloadable content.

Until Bethesda shows the PS3 platform that it gives a fuck. I'm not going to go out of my way to be excited about another game they make. Its fairly simple, if you aren't going to support the platform I use properly, I'm not going to care.

And don't even make this about market share, because really, if game developers gave a fuck about market share they would all make board games. Everyone has a fucking table.

I can give you a couple (more than 10) reasons why ps3 gets the shaft but that's not what this thread is about so I'm not gonna bother.

I'm just hoping the original team gets behind this and not some other group from the same company. (ala Sonic Team not having anyone from the original dev team after 2.)

Fuckin A. Just like companies should add Trophy support for older games on the PS3 that still don't have them, but the same games on Xbox 360 or PC have Live Achievements.

I'm still excited about this game, and I'll buy it. I'm still not happy with Bethesda for not releasing DLC for PS3. I have not heard a straight answer anywhere as to why that is, though, so I still speculate Microsoft paid them good money to keep it exclusive on the Live enabled platforms.

I have to admit that the lack of DLC wouldn't bother me, but maybe I'd think differently if I didn't have firsthand experience that Operation Anchorage is fucking boring.

speaking of DLC, there was some stuff announced for Broken Steel. Mostly that they're gonna change the crappy ending and there some puppy perk

Is the Pitt any good? Anchorage didn't impress me but I haven't played through it at lower levels. Maybe it's more fun without crazy-high stealth and combat skills.

This is basically true, so long as they continue to support the 360 controller in PC games because F3 was comfortable on it
