Default FF7 now banned in Germany

Is there anything Germany won't ban (I'm no fan of the game by the way).

A group of retarded looking monsters will appear and you will take turns hitting each other. When it is all over you will get 648 Gil and a fire ring. Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.

*suddenly has memories of Contra III being censored there as well, during the SNES times, and being renamed as Probotector*

This is new. RPGs making killers. You think this would have happened a long time ago.

That actually made me laugh really hard, crazy German children. I was in tears at the very end. Wow. Gotta love the ending.

When are people going to learn that media violence only effects people who are already prone to violence. Translated : You might get an idea from some fucked up serial killer movie and carry it out, but the movie itself won't cause you to develop the intention. For example, I want to rob a bank and I really want to do it. Then I see Ocean's Eleven and think how they did it is a good idea, and follow their plan.

OK, so they banned a game just because the 17 year olds just named themselves Reno and Sephiroth after killing a couple and not imitate that Aerith impalement scene.

What's next, getting Mario games banned because two people shooting up people and named themselves Mario and Luigi?

Who wants to go to Germany with me and commit murders under the names "Thing 1" and "Thing 2"? If this can get banned, I don't think that we'll have a hard time getting The Cat in the Hat banned...

I thought this was going to be that two year old joke article about FFVII being banned because of acts of terrorism...

Did they graft shiny jewels into their weapons and clothing to give themselves magical powers?

Quickly everyone! Must go to Germany and commit mass murders under the name of our lord and master: "DR SUESS!" I claim the name "Lorax".

*Oh shit, now the FBI is going to be spying on me, damn you Himawari*

Seriously, that just makes me ashamed to be... oh wait for once I don't have to say American. Hey everyone, look, other countries do stuff that is just an embarassment to their nation due to issues of Political Correctness! Germany has always been uber strict on these issues though. I remember there was a big deal about the color of blood in their games. Real stupid petty shit, but their country has only been a free and united nation for how long now? 18-ish years? I guess we are so used to having the natural rights of freedom of speech, that it shocks us when we realize other areas still don't.

This sounds like a new way to ban select games. I want to see someone kill in the name of something like LocoRoco in Turkey and see what happens.

Not really... plenty of other countiries are strict on games.

Australia immediately comes to mind. New Zealand, uh South Korea just had some issues with Splinter Cell. Saudi Arabia banned Pokemon...

I think we are just used to having freedoms? Considering the only game that is banned in the U.S. is "The Guy Game", the issue has never really come up. The only reason it even got banned was because it has what is technically child porn. The one girl was only 17.

I hardly think it's fair to compare Germany, New Zealand and South Korea to SAUDI ARABIA. When women can't walk alone in public I hardly care about what games they ban.

At least we know they'd probably allow Cooking Mama.
