Does anyone think that Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII will be good? i've seen the trailer to final fantasy XIII and im a little confeused on the battle system and i havent seen the trailer to versus xiii yet cause i cant find it i only have the picture of the dude

There's no trailer of Vs. XIII.

I think visually, the game looks pretty sweet so far, and with the KH team and Nomura working on it, I've got some pretty high expectations, but only time will tell.

At this point, I can't tell you. It looks impressive and I've only heard small snippets of the plot a while back on themagicbox. Will it be good? It depends if SE gets out of it shit mode and makes something decent for a change. I'm abit skeptical because SE has recently been trying to focus too much on graphical presentation then gameplay. I saw this with KH2 and Grandia III, and it may be the same with VP. VP is looking to good to be true.

I would have to say i cant tell based of of that CGI movie. Even IF that was the real gameplay, i cant state my opinion on this topic.

Okay, I just read that XII comes out on in October this year. Being that I never got into XI at all and X sucked, I am crossing my fingers that this one will be worth it. Now I have to worry about the one(s) after the one that comes out this fall. I guess it looks good but I am not jumping on that bandwagon until I see more or until XII restores my faith in the series.

The teaser trailer has since been picked apart mercilessly by the SA forums, and they've completely translated and desiphered the article that Famitsu ran ABOUT the trailer (which described the different aspects of the battle system). They made some pretty neat comparisons, and if the battle system is built to support multiple characters, then it looks like it will be a hell of a good time. The Overdrive system looks especially cool.

Whoaa, talking about over-exploiting a concept like there was no end. Still, this case doesn't compare with all those FF VII spin-offs and shit... and I actually wouldn't mind about them, if they didn't...(how do I say it?)... suck.

Just remembering Advent Children's overall fanservice (because that's what it is: pure fanservice with practically no plot) or Dirge of Cerberus' existence (ugh...) makes me lol. I always wanted to try that game for cell-phones, though, because the Turks are the most awesome shit from FFVII.

Hopefully, as long as those FFXIII spin-offs are RPGs or action-RPGs, I think it'll be pretty fine. I comment this because Square has a crappy reputation making horrible non-RPG games (lmao Driving Emotion S-Type and The Bouncer).

Yeah, according to Square's last press conference, the reason they are developing multiple games for each "game", is because the development costs for each subsequent Final Fantasy have gotten so high to the point that they make less and less off of each title. As graphics improve, and customers expect more, Square has to put more and more resources into each game. It's a damn shame, too.

If the Bouncer ended up being the Final Fantasy after IX, I think Square would have had an absolute goldmine of a title on their hands. The character designs and overall concept of the game were great, and felt parallel to Final Fantasy VII in style. Had they fleshed out the characters more than they did (which was pretty much nothing to begin with), it could have made for a great inclusion to FF.
